  Recording while in standby
Posted by: pcostanza - 2004-10-21, 11:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I set my system to record something overnight and then made the mistake of setting the system in standby when I went to bed. When I awoke, I noticed that my system was in standby and was pissed that I forget that I set it to record. Well, was I surprised that it did record. HOW? If it woke up, (Obviously) I don't know how it set it back to standby mode. Is this normal?
I hope so but I don't remember setting anything for this to happen.

  GB-PVR & Via EPIA M-series Decoder
Posted by: Cairo - 2004-10-21, 08:41 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (25)

Does GB-PVR support the hardware decoder on the Via EPIA M-series motherboards?

I noticed in the quick start guide it says it supports the Xcard and Hauppauge PVR 350 decoders, but does it have any support for the above mentioned board?

I was thinking about throwing together an easy PVR setup, but am hoping the hardware decoder is supported to reduce CPU strain.

The setup I was going for:
Casetronic 2699R
Via EPIA ME6000
Maxtor 160GB 8MB buffer HD
256 MB pc2100 DDR Ram
Hauppauge PVR-150 (Not the MCE version, since i want the remote. Or possibly just get a 250)

  schedule (d and ing) recordings suggestions
Posted by: profjoe - 2004-10-21, 08:40 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Have the scheduled recordings show the padding in the name box.

and/or

Allow editting of scheduled recordings.

It would also be nice if gbpvr were "smart" enough to guess whether it can fit the current show in the space left for the recording directory and modify the settings for that session accordingly (I presume that this cannot be changed on the fly? I would think that it would make a messed up mpeg stream.... but you should be able to do it before you start recording).

You might also (in combo with directly previous) add a "maximum disc space to occupy" option so that those that do not have a dedicated PVR disc won't mess up their other apps by filling the hard-drive.

  DVD Menu
Posted by: web_maven - 2004-10-21, 07:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

While watching a DVD is there a way to get to the DVD menu?
I currently do not have any PVR hardware but I have a remote that I use with the PC so I could program the button.

I think I had asked this question.

Is it possible to alter the TV Guide to show local variations? I'd like to show Yorkshire ITV rather than London and also add Sky Travel to the list. How can I do this?

  bought nvidia mobo, gbpvr still freezing
Posted by: kay - 2004-10-21, 01:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

hello,

i just bought an asus a7n266 board, but i still have the problem. it does not freeze after a specific time, i can watch several recordings. the tv-screen turns black when starting or stopping a recording. i can restart gbpvr, on my pc it runs, while the tv screen shows a test screen. only when i restart the recordingservice i can continue watching recordings on my tv.

what i tried so far:

-gave the pvr350 its own irq;
-set down the hardware acceleration of my graphics card;
-tried different drivers (newest ones from shspvr and hauppauge);
-deactivated 2nd tvcard (wintvtheater);
-updated the bios to the newest version;

my system contains of the following components:
asus a7n266 board with nvidia chipset
3 x hdd
pvr350
wintvtheater
sb live ls
realtek network card
geforce mx4000 graphics agp

i was enjoying the forum's postings, but i have no issue about the problem. what else can i do?

shouldn´t it be the only problem to have the wrong chipset on the mobo (via/intel)?

i really would like to use this fantastic program. only one pc is needed for recording, watching and using the pc for all other purposes at once.

thanks so far

kay

  Bug in scheduling conflict resolution
Posted by: jsouza - 2004-10-21, 11:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have found the following problem in scheduling recordings in 0227: I scheduled a reoccurring recording for all shows of a given series on a given channel (The Twilight Zone on SCIFIP). These shows are usually on at 1:00 A.M. PDT, but there was an error in the program listings on one day recently where this show was listed as running repeatedly, all day on that channel for one day. Yahoo TV listings also had this listing error, so this is not a problem with GB-PVR or Zap2It.

My problem is this: I had a regular reoccuring recording scheduled for another daytime show. However, since the erroneous listing for The Twilight Zone conflicted with the scheduled recording of my daytime show on that one day, I have not been able to get GB-PVR to record my daytime show at all. I've even deleted the scheduled reoccuring recordings for both shows and then added them again, but my daytime show will still never be recorded. I even tried to record a single instance of the show, that made no difference either. What do I need to do to allow my daytime show to be recorded again?
