  dvd playback
Posted by: burdiman - 2004-08-21, 02:26 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (41)

HI, First off I am a new convert to gbpvr and it is awesome. Great job and thanks for taking on this huge task.

Ok, I mapped my backed-up dvd location on my hard drive within the config for gbpvr but am not able to play the dvds on the mvp/television. I can however, play a backed-up dvd when I launch gbpvr on my pc. Strange.

Has anyone had luck with this? On my mvp I do not see the DVD button (but I do on my pc gbpvr) and when I access the video library i see the audio_ts and video_ts directories and not the .dv file (playable) that I see on the pc gbpvr.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

  Questions about recording
Posted by: tankd0g - 2004-08-21, 02:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

How do you delete shows you've recorded? Is the only way currently to go into explorer and delete them from the folder?

Are the Medium/low/high bitrate settings the same as medium/low/high DVD in the Hauppage WinTV2000 software?

  More on locking up PVR350
Posted by: tankd0g - 2004-08-21, 02:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Well after some extensive pounding of the remote I've determined my PVR350 works fine with OSD turned on so long as I don't use Live TV. Something about Live TV causes the whole machine to lock up, usually after pressing pause. Since the lag between changing channel on the satelite IRD and seeing it on the screen is so long I don't even use Live TV watching anyway, so I've just removed it from the list of choices. I've recored about a dozen shows, watched them, fast forward and rewinded them, paused them and no problems at all so as a PVR it's working great and that's really all I want it for.

  GB-PVR features

1)Can I transfer my VHS tapes to my PC using GB-PVR?

If so which menu do I choose to accomplish this and what steps do I go through?

2)Do I need a internet connection to my pc while GB-PVR is running? I see myself either scheduling a channel/time to do the recording, do on the fly manual recording, or recording my VHS tapes to the pc.

Thanks [Image: cool.gif]

  Zap2it Listing Update
Posted by: ocinator - 2004-08-21, 04:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

while i'm updating the EPG for the very first time I notice the amount of memory the application uses keeps increasing steadily is this somthing I should be worried about?

I still see the window "Processing Zap2it listings" and it's been running for about 35 mins so far but my LAN activity has been idle for the last 15 mins. I guess it's installing the list.

How long does it take usually?

EDIT: this is my 1st post so hello everybody [Image: cool.gif]

  Comic can't run
Posted by: DSL88 - 2004-08-21, 02:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi

I installed the GBPVR v0.19.3 in which the comic plug-in was 1.0.1668.35689

I ran the GBPVR at the PC, and select any of the the comic channels would give error message :
"Error: The underlying connection was closed. An unexpected error occurred on a receive."

At the running, the internet connection was up via the ADSL modem. And the firewall (ZoneAlarm) was set to off.

The other functions that playing back media contents in the PC were OK.

Appreciate any insight and expert comments.

Thanks

DSL88

  Web Service Still Not Working
Posted by: jfinnan - 2004-08-21, 02:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Just upgraded to latest 2.05 version and noticed that the Web service still isn't working for me. Was it supposed to be fixed in this version? I also tried downloading the web files I found from a previous post and that failed as well.

Do I need my PVR-350 if I have an X-Card?
Posted by: joshley - 2004-08-21, 01:34 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I have a couple of questions on the X-Card...

I currently have the X-Card and a PVR-350. If I use the X-Card to output to tele on all occasions, do I need the PVR-350 or would I be just as well off with a Compro VideoMate (simply for video+sound in)?! £100 versus £17... tempting!!

Also, when looking at the TV guide using the X-Card, the txt jitters almost unreadably, and no amount of fiddling with anything seems to remedy this. Does anyone else get this? The info box is only half there aswell, although that might require fiddling on the settings for X-Card, but it's far too late and far too far away for me to go all the way downstairs to try that now...   PVR-250 (-16) & eHome Wonder
Posted by: armyb77 - 2004-08-21, 01:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I was wondering if anyone has been able to make these two cards work together in GB_PVR? I think that I have tried everything I can think of to get it to work and I have failed.

If I put the eHome in PCI slot 1 then it works fine but the PVR-250 won't (in PCI Slot 2 or 3). Now if I put the PVR-250 in a higher PCI slot then the eHome then the ehome won't work and the PVR-250 will?

I would say that I have a driver issue if it wasn't for the fact that I can get the cards to work in GotAllMedia(GOTTV).
So I believe that it might be a bug in GB_PVR?

If someone could help me out I would appreciate it  I am almost at the point were I feel i'm suck with buying another Hauppauge to get this to work. But has anyone gotten 2 of those to work together?

Thanks all
Mike
