Recording from IPTV sources can be quite hit and miss. I've had 3 or 4 hour long recordings that are flawless, but I've also often found that I only ended up with the first 15 minutes - presumably because the stream drops out.

Would it be possible to have NPVR re-initialize the stream if no data is received for x seconds?
Perhaps the recording could continue in a second file like it does it there's a recording service restart.

Had to install NPVR on a new PC. Used files and settings I had been using since last November. But Comskip isn't working. Uploading logs and Comskip configuration settings.

If i purchase an IPTV service that allows multiple devices to stream at the same time, will I lose my multiple connections capability when I put my m3u link into the NextPVR server? Basically having multiple people connecting to the same NextPVR server in the same house hold.

Not sure if I have a problem or not so I'd like to relay some app behavior I've observed.

- Selecting Recent Recordings shows all recordings in NextPVR's What's New screen. As expected.
- Selecting All Recordings show no entries. Not expected.
- Selecting Pending Recordings shows only the current day's schedule. By design?
- Selecting Recurring Recordings shows only entries for the current day. By design?

Is all this normal? I used the Android device(Samsung Galaxy S2 Tab) around 12:45pm on the 17th.

If there are logs involved on the Android device, I do not know how to provide them. Attached are the normal NextPVR logs from the server.

Watching live tv is fine but recordings are not smooth exhibiting a poorer frame rate. I am using the latest version of NextPVR and my front end is Kodi. Can I ask what are the best settings for:
Video Renderer
MPEG2 Video
H.264 Video
HEVC Video

I am new to NexPVR and have it running ok on my main PC. However, I found that many of my timed recordings were not recording. These were set to record from the Guide using Kodi. What I discovered is that the EPG is not being updated. I had assumed that the initial information to set the recording was obtained from EPG and it would then set the date/time regardless of the EPG being updated. However, this does not seem to be the case, so I assume that it checks for the information in the Guide and if the Guide is not updated then it does not record. Is this correct?

I'm in the UK using a TBS6892 satellite card. Could someone please tell me how to sort out the problem of the guide not being updated?

Could someone also tell me, if my PC is in sleep mode, will NextPVR wake my PC to record a programme?

Help, please! I have a Hauppauge 1600 video card that once worked with their software, but I don't have the software anymore. I downloaded NPVR to my Win10 machine and installed. I took the defaults recommended, and scanned for channels, and came up with 63, so I'm thinking that the card is close to ready, but I cannot figure out the next steps. My pc is a HP Pavillion 1268c computer. I only selected ATSC with the Hauppauge WinTV 418 BDA tuner, and EVR as the video renderer, with with audio and music as the recommended defaults, the video decoder for the MPEG2 is Hauppauge WinTV MPEG2 Muxer (mixer?), and the audio decoder MPEG1. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! I'm wanting to use it in TV viewing mode and as a recorder.

can you make it retry iptv stream at least once when it gets a 401 unauthorized error?
it does this sometimes when i haven't used a stream in a while and immediately works within a second afterwards...some sort of timing glitch.
already missed a few recordings and sometimes happens when watching live..

So If i play back a BBC4 HD file using LAV Video Decoders (0.71) selected for H264 inside NPVR (EVR Renderer), its unstable, crashing, not moving forward, etc.

If I play back a another HD file from another source, it seems well behaved.

If I play back the same BBC4 HD file using VLC player - it plays okay. Its stable.

This seems repeatable.

So,

1. What's the difference between BBC4 HD and other HD streams which is causing the difference?

2. Is there any debug I can turn on to help diagnose the problem?

3. Should I use another set of video decoders?
