I have set my IPTV device to include the providers xmltv url as default in the import settings. This works fine , however for certain channels i have a better EPG source that i download as an xmltv file. i go to the channels setting and click on that specific channel, and hit browse to the file i want to use as the epg source. NPVR appears to try to load it but it reverts back to the default xmltv source.
So is there a way to have multiple XMLTV sources, one local?

I just had this happen to me. I went to rewind live video and then the video froze. Was able to work my way around the menu options then the error message came up that the PVR tuner not avail within kodi. Had to reboot kodi.
Any thoughts?
I've had a love/hate relationship with Kodi and NPVR. It was so hard to get set up, but once it finally was working, I left well enough alone. Last time I checked (about 2-3 weeks ago), it was working fine. I've not actually had any reason to watch LIVE TV for a while. There was a string of bad storms that just came through here, along with a Tornado Warning. The weather apps/etc for Kodi suck for LIVE information, so I went to watch our local news channel. It just sits there, saying it's loading, eventually timing out with an error about "Tuner no longer available". I've got my guide set up with multiple choices, DT (for digital tuner via cable ready from our provider), OTA (for over the air with antenna), SD and HD options (different tuners to provide different sources). I tested all possible scenarios, DT, OTA, HD, SD, different channels, etc. They all have the same result. I thought my settings might have changed, but they're all still correct. I'm using version 2.4.13.1 of the Kodi addon. I'm not sure if that's the latest version or not, but it's the only one my repository has access to. So I then checked on my server to see if the settings got changed there. Nope, everything still looks good. I was even able to test watching a channel on the server (although I don't know if it TRULY worked, I was going through Remote Desktop and all I saw was a black screen). I do know, that the icon turned RED in the task bar to indicate a tuner was recording and the status window did show a tuner was in use. The next thing I did, before starting this thread, was check to make sure I'm using the latest version of NextPVR on the server. Turns out I wasn't. So I thought maybe the Kodi addon was trying to communicate with NPVR but couldn't because of a version conflict. I updated the software, and now confirm I am using 4.1.1 (180410). I know the client and server are communicating with each other, because it downloads the guide data when I reboot my Kodi box. When I try to start watching something from Kodi, my NPVR server status blinks active for a second, then stops. It's like it drops communication right when it should start sending the stream across the network.
I'm not sure what else to try. I've even gone as far as to create a new Port Forwarding rule in my router for "8866" and still nothing. I guess I just need to throw in the towel and ask for help.

PS - I just did a quick check. I've got recordings for some shows, and none of them will play beyond April 22'nd. Was this when all the updating happened that's caused my issue? Or is there something significant that happened that week that broke it for the following weeks' recordings?
PPS - I forgot to mention, the logs here are from when I tried to watch a live stream. I can get logs of a recording playback that works, and one that doesn't, if it will help..
I am new to this soft. and only use it to record 1 ch, Sky Arte from Italy.
When I try to watch or record some programme it says ''UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH RECORDING SERVICE''.
Also on task bar the NextPVR icon in BLACK has always RESTART RECORDING SERVICE.
This means that for every recording have to go there I put in RED to start recording , no meaning then for schedule recordings ???
Now closed IPTV provider Ace Hosting voluntarily handed over subscriber details and its subscriber list to The Premier League and subscribers are set to have their details made public and could even be handed to the authorities.
Remember folks, many of these IPTV services are pirate sites and illegal.
I've seen users on here post about ACE and the NEXTpvr iptv features. If it's too good to be true it probably is.
Lets say the wife records all masterchef episodes, I have npvr update guide at 7:15am daily, the show starts at 7:30pm and goes to 8:30pm, during the day the guide is updated at some point and show now runs 7:30pm - 8:46pm. My end padding time was 15 mins and it misses the end time.. its increased now to 30 mins but this is getting slightly extensive.
Since my data is coming from the internet, scraped from http://freeview.com.au I can make a scheduled task to import many times per day.
I was going to use -updateepgonly option to import updated data.
My question is how does npvr work in regards to handling new guide data.
1. Does npvr update recordings after each update of the guide data?
2. What happens if the guide is updated while the recording is in progress and that recording has an updated end time? Hopefully it updates recording end time?
Plan is to get data every 2 or 4 hours as needed if this works out well. Hopefully this would catch any programming updates.
Earlier today I had a well-behaved NPVR setup with two NMT devices. I believe installation of some new hardware has fouled up my settings. Now when I select mvpmc I'm getting the error "unable to resolve the host name". I've spent the last hour or two checking everything I can think of, but getting nowhere fast.

I have no idea if this relates to the now resolved issue I raised at the https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...VR-backend thread but I now find that Kodi 15 on my Ubuntu client and Kodi 17 on my Windows 10 NextPVR host PC are not picking up the past recordings - the list is empty. NPVR itself on the Windows 10 host does see them.
I've tried a Clear Data in the Kodi settings, as sub suggested in the prior thread, but it makes no difference on this occasion (not a surprise because the data it clears relates to channels etc, not recordings). I attach the Kodi debug log from the Ubuntu client - these logs mystify me and I really do not know what I should be looking for, sorry.
I've been using the two versions of Kodi with the NPVR backend for ages without problems. All these difficulties seem to have begun since the Windows 10 update failed last weekend and I had to reset the entire W10 installation.
I am requesting 23:59:00 of guide data at a time by channelId. So 00:00:00 - 23:59:00 using:

So for the current day(the 13th), everything is okay. But when I request tomorrow's guide (the 13th, or the 14th), I also get the 11:00 PM - 11:59 PM from the 12th. This results in 2 entries for the 12th at 11:00PM - 11:59 PM.
Is this the correct response? Is there an adjustment I can make to the parameter(s) so I do not get the last hour of the previous day?
Seems Kodi/Nextpvr addon may have some issue repeatedly requesting channels after some time.
Opened Fresh Kodi 18 Alpha pre-release on my Win 10 64bit (April creator's update).
Opened channel, watched for some time.
Stopped channel, and let it for 3-5 minutes alone.
Then tried to re-open the same channel and from there on got "Tuner no longer available error" until I closed Kodi and re-opened it again.
