Any way to get TV Logos from m3u IPTV playlist?
Posted by: shqiperih - 2018-04-18, 05:22 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hello,
First of all great work.
I was wandering if there is a way to update or tweak the importer function to also read the tv-logo from the m3u list given by the provider.
This is usually in the below format :
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="RTV21.al" tvg-name="RTV 21 HD AL" tvg-logo="http://cdn.mypanel.tv/picon/rtv21al_2.png" group-title="Albania",RTV 21 HD AL
http://theactualurl.m3u8

So the info is given at the tvg-logo="url". Maybe we can pull this only once and cache it.

I have tried to write my own code to do this and rename the logonames to match the channel names as they appear in npvr however because the channels have characters like &/ and other control characters i cannot create a filename with the those characters so the logo name and tv name don't match.

If there is code available which i can modify and help ouyt in any way let me know.

thank you!

Possible to view/watch with Nlite when traveling?
Posted by: mattman1968 - 2018-04-18, 04:30 PM - Forum: NLite - Replies (13)

Is it possible to remote connect with Nlite? For instance if I'm traveling and I connect to an Xfinity hot-spot, is it possible to SSH, or other, into my home machine with Nlite? Or is that beyond the scope of NLite?

  OTA scan option
Posted by: Wwillie - 2018-04-18, 04:13 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Hello guys and girls new member , just getting started with NextPVR have it installed and waiting on my tuner from hauppauge the 955q
Not sure if the wish has been covered. But

add/delete individual channels manually.
You can scan 'DTV Air', cable or 'Analog Air' individually,
and you can stop any one of them at any time, and it will keep the results thus far.

eg - there is no reason to waste your time scanning DTV 52 thru 69 since you will never find anything there.
For US/CA

That way if a new sub channel is introduced in your viewing area you don't have to scan all

Better subtitling positioning on Video and TV (Live and Recorded).
Posted by: GuruSR - 2018-04-17, 09:06 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

Most Videos today (BluRay) are of the "Scope" variant (some are "Flat", but that isn't much help either). Film formats still don't match TV formats (anywhere near), so when you're watching that latest Disney Sci-Fi soap opera (Star Wars), you wind up watching the movie in the middle of your TV with black bars at the top and the bottom and with the Subtitling on, it's right over that soap opera's imagery while the empty black bars at the top and bottom are unused.

Would it be too hard to offer "smart" subtitling, where it would (excluding positioned subtitles) place the subtitle vertically aligned to top or bottom based on size, much like TVs with subtitling do (our Gym has exercise machines that have small TVs and their subtitling display puts the text at the top or bottom based on some kind of reasoning), most of the time subtitling on NPVR is just below center in all things Video and TV).

Video lag on comskipping and live tv unpause (4.1.1)
Posted by: GuruSR - 2018-04-17, 08:54 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Actually, it was happening with 4.1.0, since 4.0.4 and most likely the TSReader, is there a recommended CodeC (up to date) listing that should be used with this new TSReader to remove the issue, as the video will lag for about 5 seconds and then jump to where it should be. Before the jump it progressively gets slower until it almost stops. Would returning to an earlier TSReader be possible or not, the 3.9.7 one I believe was the one I was using had that bug at the start but after a commercial skip, there was no lag (of a considerable amount).

With all the varied CodeCs out on the 'net, would be a valuable resource to download a specific CodeC batch from here that will ensure consistent performance across all devices. This PC and the PVR PC have totally different CodeC lists for use on NextPVR and I'm not even sure if the ones on this PC would benefit the PVR PC.

Black screen only over NextPVR (3.x to 4.1.1)
Posted by: GuruSR - 2018-04-17, 08:49 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

With the PC running as a PVR connected to a 16:9 TV (on another input), when I turn the PVR on (wake from sleep, remote is not capable of bringing it out of sleep as it isn't a "mouse" or "keyboard", thanks ASUS), the system comes back from sleep, but NextPVR is totally black, until I turn the mouse on on the remote and move it, then poof, it's there. Only happens after a duration of idleness. The screensaver is set to None on NextPVR and there are no savers on the PC and the Power Management has it off. While working on the 4.1.0 update, after about 30 mins with the TV off, I came back to the TV, turned it on and not in full screen mode which is how I left it, NextPVR's whole client area within the border was black, again until I moved the mouse in it and poof, it came back. Almost like a screensaver inside it alone, the rest of the screen was how I left it. Does the default theme offer a builtin screen blank saver? At least 4.1.1 seems to keep itself "on top" as previous versions before didn't and I had to keep using the mouse mode to click it in front of the task bar (now that I've said that, it'll make a liar out of me tomorrow or the next day).

Info in 'Details' is different than 'Bulk Map'
Posted by: Legacy14 - 2018-04-17, 03:38 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Recently, I missed a recording as I realized that the channel mapping info was wrong for one of my channels. I changed it to the correct one, but now I've noticed that when I click on 'Details' for some channels it doesn't show the channel I just picked, but if I go to the 'Bulk Map', it is correct - and based on the listings, it certainly seems I'm getting the right listings.

I checked the channels and here are examples of what I'm seeing:
Network: CBC; #5.1; Details: CBC Toronto (6); Bulk Map: CBC Toronto (6) -> match
Network: CTV; # 9.1; Details: CITSDT YES HDTV (9); Bulk Map: CTV Toronto (8) - > not a match; CTV callsign is CFTO, not CITS
Network: TVO; # 19.1; Details: CICA TVOntario (141); Bulk Map: CICA TVOntario (2) -> not a match, but CICA is correct callsign and listings are same
Network: TheCW; #23.1; Details: CBC News Network (23); Bulk Map: WNLO (166) -> not a match, different stations
Network: Global TV; #41.1; Details: Global Ontario/CIII (3); Bulk Map: Global Ontario/CIII (3) -> match
Network: City TV; #57.1; Details: Black Entertainment Television (Canada East) (57); Bulk Map: City Toronto (7) -> not a match

So it seems the info I see when I click on the 'Details' button is based on matching up a listing with the channel number (mostly). In any case, it's strange that when I change the mapping in the 'Details' area it doesn't seem to 'stick'? But it does show correctly in the bulk map.

Any idea what's going on here?

Sort shows by title & ignore "The" in title???
Posted by: mattman1968 - 2018-04-17, 12:33 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (1)

I use the TV Listings Plugin and I have my "Ready" recordings sorted by show title. I am curious if it's possible to sort the recorded shows by Title and ignore "The" in front of the show title...so "The Big Bang Theory" and "The Blacklist" would be alphabetized by "B" rather than "T". Therefore, they would show in the list before "Lucifer", for example.

I use the Movies plugin and it apparently sorts movies this way automatically as I haven't done anything to modify how movies are sorted. It would be nice to sort Recorded shows the same way if possible.

Thanks!

NextPVR using the wrong audio codec
Posted by: cmkeddy - 2018-04-17, 01:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

When I first start watching anything (recorded or live) the AC3 codec will be being used and I have audio, quite often when changing channels (even just stopping and tuning to the same channel) I will lose sound and when I check the information pop up (ctrl+i) it shows that the AAC codec is being used. So it appears for some reason nextPVR is trying to use the wrong codec, the only thing that fixes it when it happens is a full system reboot.

I use a colossus 2 with a set top box and HDMI.

Video Library File Names Truncated since 4.1.1 upgrade
Posted by: peter t - 2018-04-16, 09:45 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I upgraded from 3.9.2 to 4.1.1 (I skipped the releases 4.0.4 to and 4.1.0 as I had problems with them) on two machines one running W7 (a dedicated PVR) and the other running W10. Same problem with both machines.
I have attached a jpg of the Video Screen showing my problem.[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

I have spent a little time looking at this and it appears to be caused by a file name longer than the dialogue box with a space in the name.

The file names in the jpg example is "American Pickers 20150720_21242326.mpg" it shows as "American..."
If I edit the filename and remove the space "American_Pickers_20150720_21242326.mpg" it shows as "American Pickers_20150720_2124..."

I like this view in Video and I do not want to edit the filenames of several thousand unwatched video files. This has not occurred until I installed version 4.1.1 (the best version of NPVR I have used)
I am now an old bloke, I have used this software since GBPVR09608 in 2006 and love it. I don't use any add-ons and generally try to "Keep IT Simple"
