Just a Q... Should SchedulesDirect be used to populate guide for OTA channels?
Posted by: Lone_Stranger - 2018-03-29, 11:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

In preparation for cutting the cord, I created a sand-box system to see what and how NPVR works with OTA channels. I tried to use one of my Ceton 4 tuner cards, but that didn't get very far, so I'm trying an old KWorld UB455 I had in my junk box. Just about everything I tried works, except the TV guide. My question is: Should Schedules Direct be used to populate the guide for OTA channels, or should I try something else?

Here's what I get when I specify Schedules Direct....

System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Newtonsoft.Json, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=30ad4fe6b2a6aeed' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

If it "should" work, then I'll repeat my test and submit the ZIP of the logs.

Re-arrange order of plug-ins? Group movies together?
Posted by: mattman1968 - 2018-03-29, 01:01 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Hi,

2 questions:

1. Can the Movies plug-in from here be set up to group movie sets together like in Kodi? For instance, all Captain America movies would be grouped into an entry/folder labeled as Captain America Collection. Upon selecting that particular collection, then the individual movies would be displayed.

2. Can the order of the plug-ins be rearranged? Since adding the Movies plug-in, it is displayed at the bottom of the list like this:
TV Guide
Recordings
Live TV
Search
Videos
DVD
Exit
Movies

I would like to have the Exit button be at the bottom of the list, if possible.

Thanks!

How do I get TV channels in the order I want?
Posted by: LeoL - 2018-03-29, 12:50 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (9)

Hi,

I'm new to NextPVR and have managed to get it working with Kodi. But I can't get the TV channels to appear in the order I want them.

I have got groups working okay but not the order within those groups.

In Settings/Channels/Channel Details there is the actual channel number NextPVR has found and I thought I could give the channel another number in the next field to determine the order that the channels would appear. I have done this but it does not seem to work.

The channels in Kodi appear to be ordered according to their main channel number. I can order them by Name but that is not what I want either.

The only solution I can see is to put a number in front of the channel name but I would prefer not to do this.

Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Media and Thumbs directory very large
Posted by: manic_biker - 2018-03-28, 06:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

My C: drive is full (200G) mainly due to the Media and Thumbs directories. I have configured all recorded shows to another 2T internal disc, so I thought I should be OK. I was surprised to see the C: disc full message pop up. How can I fix this?

I also see that recordings appear in the default public videos folder, even though they do appear in the 2T E: drive, as I requested. Should I change the default folder to my 2T E: drive, rather than add a second folder? Right now, it seems that I have duplicates.

  Double recording same show problem
Posted by: joeijm - 2018-03-28, 04:29 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (23)

In Recording menu, sometimes I see same show being recorded twice.
I can only remember set to record only once. There's no reason to set to record same show twice at same time.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't happen always. I goto Recording menu and most of time I see only one recording for the show.
But sometimes by accident, I see same show being recorded twice.
Also after finished recording, I see same show recorded twice from same time period.

This is strange mystery,
Anybody experienced double recordings?

How to set time limit on recording?
Posted by: joeijm - 2018-03-28, 10:25 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I have seen in DVRs I used before (with cable), where I can set first however minutes I want recorded instead of recording entire tv show.
Ex: I have 60min show, but only wanna record first 15mins.
How can NPVR do this? or can it?

Strange issue with playback and recording iptv channels only
Posted by: mickle026 - 2018-03-28, 08:40 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (49)

At first I thought my issue was kodi, but its not - it happens with Emby and Direct Playback

I have 2 DVB tuners and an IPTV tuner setup.

The DVB Tuners work fine and schedule how they should. The IPTV recieves fines and lists as it should.

When I playback a DVB stream from my server via Kodi and NEXTPVR client it works flawlessly - Very Happy Smile, Records and Playsback without issue.

When I playback or RECORD an IPTV stream (TS Stream) from my NPVR server via ANY client it often repeats chunks, initially mostly in the first few minutes and then random throughout. It seems to me that when NPVR is decoding chunks, that there is some sort of loop that it gets into and re-caches the same TS data chunk more than once as the next piece.
It does this both when recording and playback. Stop and replay the SAME stream and it doesn't do it, but change stream to another one and it does.

I have spent several days already checking kodi, my IPTV provider and my own network. Its none of those things, My IPTV provider is fine - receive the stream on another device and VLC simultaneously and it doesn't repeat chunks.

Any ideas what this might be, any settings I might need to change?

Thanks

unexpected error when setting up recordings and not saving to default group in kodi
Posted by: Jeffrey13 - 2018-03-28, 12:36 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

im not sure if the error is with kodi. cause i dont get an error when i save to default directory. im just not sure if im setting up the directorys correctlly in npvr. i changed my virtual default to my D: drive. then i added some sub directorys Soap operas, Ncis also in the d: drive. - and added them to npvr and gave them virtual names. i can choose these groups in kodi but every time i goto save the timer (for an edited timer i havent tried on new one will do that tonight) i get the unexpected error. very frustrating i would just like to keep these recording in seperate directorys. now i got the kodi logger addon and uploader but my file was to large to upload (had it running when i first started with kodi) anyway thought id just delete it unless you think thats a bad idea. also could i get a quick link to uploading my npvr logs and where to turn them on and find them.

  Kodi & NextPVR
Posted by: djr_fox - 2018-03-28, 12:15 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

Hello all.

I have recently downloaded Kodi 18 and installed NextPVR on the same machine. They both work alone but when I try to install the add on in Kodi for NextPVR - it doesnt work. I have followed the instructions on both and still not working.
I have tried to install Kodi 17.6 (and delete Kodi 18) - no success.
I have a VPN too - which I disabled but with no success.
I reinstalled NextPVR and no success.
I have attached the log files in case anything can be spotted there.
I love Kodi and I love the look of NextPVR and cant understand what I am doing wrong.
I have set the Kodi address for NextPVR as 127.0.0.1 but when I try and lookup this address with the passcode 8866 in the browser, it comes up with the connection error?
Thank you all for your help in advance.
