Can't seem to find anything on this. Is it possible to have a secondary login for the webadmin? One that my wife can use so we aren't stepping on each other?
My current installation is on my personal computer. I was testing out NextPVR/Kodi to see if this is the direction that I really wanted to go. After a year, I've decided that "Hey, this works great, and I am going to keep it".
My intent is to put NextPVR on a dedicated mini PC. After a bit of research, I am currently leaning towards this guy, Azulle Byte Plus. It has 4GB of ram and an Intel CherryTrail Quad-Core 1.44GHZ CPU.
The reviews on this little guy is mixed. Most of the reviews say for media streaming and viewing, it works great, but if you try to do anything to intensive, then it bogs down. My current installation is an AMD Quad-core 4.2GHZ CPU with 16GB of DDR3 RAM. If I'm watching TV and working on the PC at the same time, I have caused delay's and drops.
This installation will be dedicated to NextPVR. Would you think that it's a powerful enough machine to run NextPVR? I'm not familiar with the CherryTrail processor and I'm just wondering if its enough of a CPU?
I note I have an intermittent crash? well the gui closes when changing channels sometimes. I had been playing about with codecs late last night, settling on powerdvd and lav for audio. Logged in remotely from work at lunch time today and all great could not get it to crash no matter how fast I was changing channels, thought I had cracked it.
However got home tonight put on a free to air channel and the gui crashed, well it just closed with no error.
Do these logs collected immediately after the crash give any indication as to why?
This morning I was watching a show (on channel 730) while another show was recording on a different channel (channel 630). At 7AM I had set NPVR to record another back-to-back episode of the same show that was recording on 630, on the same channel as the previous recording (still channel 630). I had also set NPVR to record Today at 7AM, on a 3rd channel (612). At 6:58 AM, the stream ended on the show I was watching (channel 730) as NPVR decided it needed the tuner to record the next episode on channel 630 and the new recording on channel 612. I thought that NPVR would just keep using the same tuner that was already tuned to channel 630 and just send the stream to both recordings. Shouldn't it have left channel 730 streaming and used multi-rec to record the other shows? I do have the reverse priority for Live TV box checked in settings. Also note that I have BDA Compatibility set to Media Portal, as suggested by Sub for multi-rec in another thread recently. Just in case that is part of the issue.

One oddity that may affect this: I didn't go through the Live TV screen to select the show to watch. Instead, I selected the show from the TV Guide screen and then clicked Watch from there. I don't know if this would affect the logic somehow.
On a side note, I was also unable to watch the video that recorded for channel 612 in NPVR, but I was able to watch it via Media Player Classic. As soon as I noticed that I couldn't watch the video, I stopped the recording, went back to the TV Guide and selected "Watch" and could view the video just fine in NPVR, so I clicked the Record button on my remote and NPVR picked up recording the show again and I was later able to view that video just fine. I don't know if this was just a side effect of the tuner confusion or not. Alas, I deleted the botched video recording so I can't upload a sample.
Until recently, I have been time-shifting to a dedicated RAMDisk on my Server.
However, I realised that I never rewind or pause live TV and got rid of it.
Am I correct in thinking that if I watch live TV via X-Newa, there is no way to turn off time-shifting?
At the moment, I use X-Newa for all my scheduling and playing of recordings but I have to switch to the NPVR plugin for live TV because the add-on has an option to turn off time-shifting (this does not seem to be available for X-Newa).
So got this odd issue.
I recently started using H264 to save space since I have the TC tuners but now can only play HD channels in NPVR.
I basically get a black screen and NPVR semi locks up.
I am running Windows 10 using the Microsoft DVD codec.
I can play the channel fine directly in media player (which just uses the same codec) but not NPVR.
If I record something I can play it in Kodi fine but can't live watch in Kodi either with the NPVR plugin's, only recorded things (this is what makes me think it's NPVR, that and other players will stream fine if NPVR not involved).
Almost makes me think is codec but it's not. I installed some others and same issues.
If I turn h264 off on the HDHR everything works fine.
I tried setting H.264 SD/HD and Mpeg2 on the device
I happened to have a VM with the older version of NPVR installed and it had same problem so doesn't seem related to recent version but not sure the cause.
I have the driver set to Default on HDHR software and they are running the latest firmware/SW.
Thoughts?
Also randomly on some HD channels depending on the lighting I get a flickering that occurs. This does not happen in Kodi or other players, even if the other player uses MS DVD codec (I know Kodi uses another one) but was just trying to eliminate something.
Hey guys, I have an issue that I have spent many hours trying to fix (posting here is my lat option)
I have NextPVR and a HDHomeRun - this used to work flawlessly but then recently stopped recording or tuning to a channel.
HDHomeRun successfully detects all channels but when I do a channel scan with NPVR It doesnt scan any channels. The only thing thats changed recently would probably be a software update.
windows 10 on an intel nuc i3.
Some things I have done to try and fix the issue:
I have completely disabled the windows firewall
reset the HDHomeRun, checked for updates, reconfigured the HDHomeRun and rescanned fpr channels
done a fresh install of Windows 10 - reinstalled the software and started again
in the HDHomeRun I changed the 'BDA Compatabiliy mode' to both 'default' and 'NextPVR' but neither worked.
I have attached the log. any suggestions would be hugely appreciated.
I've been using NextPVR for about 6 months and found it an excellent product, primarily recording UK Freesat TV shows and Movies, using a single card with 2 x Black Gold BDA DVBS Tuners (and 2 x DVBT tuners which I don't use).
I then use MCE Buddy to convert the ".ts" files for playback though Plex and have build up about 4TB of TV shows and moves so far. Good support documentation means it has been an easy process to setup and fully automate.
The one problem I have is that about 20% of recordings have a narration - intended for the visually impaired. This narration is played back whether listening directly to the ".ts" files using VLC on the main server, or via Plex on one of the TVs. It does not appear to be limited to a single Freesat TV channel, or logical grouping of channels and does not happen all the time. I have searched and can not find settings, forum articles or guidance on how to fix this.
I'm currently running Next PVR 3.9.2 (161119).
Any what I may have setup incorrectly would be greatly appreciated. I can setup any tests and provide further info if it helps.
I did a new installation last night and everything is working flawlessly in Kodi through Windows 10 but stuck with fine tuning.
A lnk has been created to update the guide automatically twice a day just after webgrab updates the xmltv file programmed on the windows task scheduler.
(nextpvr.exe -UpdateEPG)
The issues I'm having are:
1. When the task is run, after the update the program opens (actually opens minimised). Would be possible to not pop up after EPG update?
2. As I'm on Spanish Tv the scrappers are not good for local content, all the posters are on my Xmltv file, is there a way to load them from there?
