Recording moved to a new drive. How to rebuild metadata
Posted by: Strontium_99 - 2016-09-11, 03:12 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi there. I'm running NPVR 3.7.7.
I had to move all my recordings to a new drive because my original drive was failing. So the drive letter has changed and a few of the recordings have been lost. I changed the record directory in NPVR settings, but it's still showing old recordings in the recording screen.

Is there are way to rebuild the metadata/database to now only show the recordings I have?

Thanks.

Phantom Record Event Interupts Live TV Daily at 08:00
Posted by: MFaklis - 2016-09-11, 03:11 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I have absolutely no scheduled recordings with NextPVR or WinTV, yet everyday while watching live TV from within NextPVR, the live TV is interrupted and a message appears stating that the tuner is no longer available since it is currently recording. I can return to the main menu and select live TV again.

Other than verifying scheduled recordings in NextPVR and WinTV (there are none), I don't know how to proceed diagnosing this annoyance. I also checked Windows Task Scheduler and there are no record events scheduled. Can anyone tell me where I might find this phantom record event?

I am running Win 10 Pro rel 1607 x64 and use a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2255 dual tuner. I have the current release of NextPVR, Hauppauge drivers, and WinTV v8. I am not using WinTV.

  Recurring recordings not scheduling?
Posted by: mattyb - 2016-09-11, 08:52 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

This might be something simple... I've just tried to setup some recurring recordings (for 7 days and The Graham Norton Show) but the show doesn't turn red in the guide and it's missing from the Pending Recordings screen, though there is an entry in the Recurring Recordings screen. Any ideas? Logs attached.

Many thanks in advance.

  HVR 2250 scanning issues
Posted by: Ted the Penguin - 2016-09-11, 02:59 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

So... It's been a while, hi everyone! Smile

This is really odd (forgive the story). I THINK it all started happening when I updated to the latest version of Windows 10, but I can't be 100% sure (my wife is really the one that records stuff, I only get informed when something isn't working).

My channels were all set up and happy, everything was great for years (this was why I was never around, the thing just worked!!), then it stopped being able to tuner/record the SD channels. OK.. I figure Verizon decided to mess with me, so I try re-scanning, the only channels I can find are when I scan "Default Cable Frequencies 70+" and that only gives me the HD versions of my channels. OK, fine, whatever, I assume Verizon is messing with me, and not putting the SD versions in the clear anymore. So I re-map everything so the wife's shows all keep recording automatically, etc. etc. but since they don't all stack on a single frequency anymore (yeah, I was lucky), I get some conflicts (and space issues because everything is HD now). SO we decide that getting an HDHomeRun Prime is the solution, extra tuners, possibility for a cablecard, all goodness. I just got that today, set it all up, everything is great with the setup and view apps from SiliconDust. I set up NPVR for the new tuners, it imports the existing settings, all is well. THEN I notice something odd, I was able to see the SD channels with the HDHomeRun still!?!?!

I start digging more, and it looks like the HDHomeRun is able to tune the SD channels without an issue, but I still cant scan/tune them on the HVR2250. I tried updating the drivers for the Hauppauge device, no joy, still no channels in the scan. it looks like it just doesn't want to lock onto anything under channel 70 anymore?!

TLDR: My Hauppauge device decided it didn't want to lock onto some channels anymore, but they're still there because an HDHomeRun can pick them up just fine.

I am guessing there are some specific logs I need to collect for this, but if its just the standard ones, I can send those.

Streaming to Chrome browser on Windows "http error"
Posted by: itm2 - 2016-09-10, 10:29 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I have NextPVR installed on a Windows 7 machine, and I'm using a Chrome web browser on another Windows 7 machine, on the same LAN, to try and stream recordings. When I open the stream I see "http error" at the bottom of the page. If I click the play button I get a spinning circle that never goes away.
(How) is it possible to stream recordings in a Chrome browser on Windows 7?

  Cannot connect Via Web Browser:8866
Posted by: srhutch - 2016-09-10, 08:53 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

NPVR server died today so took the HDD out and put in new box and reinstalled windows to get the box to boot up. Updated windows and installed drivers etc. Copied the two NPVR folders back to their original locations and then installed NPVR over the top. All working OK, excpet I cannot connect to NEWA via the browser.

Have attached the log file which contains an error, but not sure what to do as these folders/files didn't exist before.

Live TV not working on Kodi 16.1
Posted by: itm2 - 2016-09-10, 08:07 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (9)

I downloaded NextPVR yesterday and installed in on a Windows 7 machine which already had Kodi 16.1 installed. I configured the NextPVR add-in with the Hostname (127.0.0.1) and port (8866), then enabled the add-on and exited Kodi. When I then restarted Kodi and opened the TV menu I could see the channels and the EPG, but whenever I tried to stream a channel, either from the Guide or from the Channel List, it would just hang with a "Working..." message. In the end I need to kill the Kodi process.

My hardware is an AMD processor and Blackgold BGT3620 DVB-T2 card. I have successfully recorded programs using the NextPVR web interface, so NextPVR seems to be hooked up to the tuner correctly.

Any ideas for how to diagnose this?

  DVB-C tuning problem
Posted by: striben - 2016-09-10, 03:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (61)

DVB-c tuning (in Denmark) fails to find channels at 538 to 578 MHz where I should get a number of HD.264-HD channels. I try a HDHomeRun Expand and a Terratec HTC USB device, bot both give the same problem. Most of the time NextPVR doesn't find any channels in that frequency range, but from time to time it does find channels on one of the fequencies, but in that case the channels are detected as MPEG2-SD and not as expected HD.264.
Channels on other frequencies are all found. I can find all channels on all frequencies using other programs.
Logfiles attached. In zip 1 to 3 some channels are found as MPEG2. In zip 4 no channels are found.

Channel tuning issue with NextPVR 3.7.7/Kodi 16.1 and 17b1
Posted by: Ark :D - 2016-09-09, 10:53 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (21)

Hello,

I've got a channel-tuning issue with my NextPVR 3.7.7/Kodi 16.1 and 17b1 setup. The symptoms are remarkably similar to the content of this thread: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=214096

To summarize, channels seemingly at random fail to tune properly when using Kodi with the NextPVR plugin. At times, channel A will tune fine while channel B will not, then the next day, channel A won't tune while channel B tunes just fine. While this is going on, the affected channels will tune fine in the NextPVR interface. Also, while this is going on, affected channels can be recorded (just not watched) in Kodi. After said recording is completed, the recorded content can be watched fine in Kodi even while the affected channel cannot be watched live. Apparently a workaround solution was produced by Sub and was included in NextPVR 3.7.7, but my setup is still affected.

Attached are the log files for both NextPVR and Kodi.

Here is what I did to produce these logs:

1) Exited Kodi and stopped the NRecord service (to free up the existing log files)
2) Deleted the existing log files for both Kodi and NextPVR
3) Restarted the NRecord service, then restarted Kodi
4) Opened Live TV in Kodi, and tuned to a channel I know I was currently unable to watch live (in this instance, channel 817 - CNN HD)
5) After it failed to start streaming, I instead tuned to a channel I know I was currently ABLE to watch live
6) Closed Kodi and snatched the log files to attach to this post.

Thanks in advance for anything you guys can offer!
~Ark

  Which Tuner is being used?
Posted by: herringj - 2016-09-09, 04:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Is there a way to know which of the 3 tuners NPVR is using at a given time, recording, etc?

John
