So I have a channels list imported into nextpvr they are all m3u8 streams imported from an iptv provider. The channels work fine, I am using kodi as a frontend btw. However whenever I change channels the other channel continues to play in the background by nextpvr. You can see it in the status in the taskbar, also the ffmpeg process continues to run downloading the channel, sometimes even after restarting my computer.
Another problem I'm having is that when a channel is not working, i.e. the stream has gone dead, which isn't that often, kodi or nextpvr will just try and load it forever, at which point I have to force close them, is there a timeout on bad stream feature?
The question is to do with the web client , I have it enable to auto show via options and all is woking, How ever when i select program via the tv guide channel loads all is good (now the question in hand is cant seem to get back to the tv Guide menu (not the context mini epg) is there a key im missing?))
As i mention thats the question i would like info on. the other mode thing its the native client where you use skins classic and confluence work ie back button goes from live picture to main tv guide.
any help finding out what key gets the web client back from live tv to main tv guide (only way at mo is to stop live tv completly
I am not sure if this sort of post is frowned upon, because, actually, I dont even have an issue.
I just want to take the time to say how great this software really is and how solid it has been for me. As soon as I am finished making this post, I am going to donate. i cannot thank the developers enough for creating such a wonderful thing. In all honesty, when i left the MAC world (I was using EyeTV with the Elgato 350 PLUS), I couldnt imagine anything being better..until of course, I started using NextPVR.
2 Things that I feel make this AMAZING is
1. When there are back to back scheduled recordings on the same channel, I always have the timer padding set to record one minute early and end one minute late. I was blown away that it STILL does this even though one starts right after another..it layers the files....amazing..i was expecting it to splice the recording..(if that makes any sense at all)
2. This I JUST noticed. if I schedule a program to record all new episodes on a channel, and, it is scheduled at the same time as some other show in the same time slot, it will automatically look for the next airing (most of the times about 1:00am or 2:00am) and record it for me as to not conflict with what I have scheduled..... (unless I am misunderstanding something)... if so, please correct me on this
This software is just incredible. Keep up the amazing work.....
Individual recordings without an adjacent one work fine, but back-to-back recordings always fail with "Recording service not running at recording time". This can be seen in NRecord.log.2
Using windows 10 professional.
After about 3 minutes watching live TV or replay of a recording next PVR crashes. Never had any issues with anything on our system before regarding Next PVR.
Windows 10 Pro 64
Issues started a few days ago while still on version 3.6.6
Have run the update to version 3.7.7
Also found a few device drivers that need updates. Did a full reinstall, still crashes after all the updates / reinstalls
Windows fully up to date
help or suggestions would be appreciated as I'm going nuts
I have a win 10 machine that is a client that looks at my main HTPC running win7. (I use the win 7 machine most of the time to record and watch). I recently tried to use Keyword searching on the win 10 machine to look for "CSI" so I could record "all new CSI", CSI New York" etc. On the win 10 machine these several recurring recordings show in the recurring recordings list but they do not show in the recuring recordings on the win 7 machine. They do show in the Pending and also the guide
Am I right is saying that once set on any of my clients (I have a Pi too) that they should show up on all my machines? They only show on the win 10 machine
Not sure if it's related but when starting the win 10 machine I always get a "Unable to communicate with server" message. However after about 5 seconds this goes away and the program runs. (I can see the guide, watch recordings etc).
Logs from win 10 client where I watched a small amount of "Wentworth" and the win 7 server attached. Any assistance appreciated
I have several recordings scheduled, let's say there's 10 series recordings......Of those, the big bang and tosh will fail randomly.....approximately half of the episodes record correctly.
The files still show up, but instead of being a TS file of 1,900,800 its a very small file of 1,234k.
I don't really know where to go with this, but I'd certainly like to figure it out. As I said, most recordings work perfectly.
Also, I'm running this on a core i3 machine win10, and the files are being written to freenas, similar powered setup.
The KWorld UB435-Q V1-3 tuners work fine in TotalMedia, Hypermedia Center and TiVme on Windows; also in Kaffeine and MythTV on Linux.
These tuners work fine with ATSC (North America) over-the-air channels (8VSB) in MediaPortal, Next PVR and Windows Media Center.
They do NOT work with "clear QAM" cable tv channels (QAM256) in these programs.
THE PROBLEM:
-----------------
Quoting NRivera637, "This tuner presents itself as an ATSC/QAM tuner. Each tuner thinks it's an ATSC/QAM tuner, runs as an ATSC tuner
but searches for DVB-C frequencies. There is no DVB-C in North America therefore nothing will ever be found."
THE SOLUTION:
------------------
Create a DVB-C file containing ATSC frequencies!
This fix should work with V1, V2 and possibly V3 tuners.
I copied the freqencies from the C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters\atsc\QAM Standard.xml
file into one of the C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DBC-C files (using it as a pattern and removing the extra entries of course).
Next PVR scans my channels just fine!!!
I have Frontier (formerly Verizon FiOS) in the Tampa Bay area.
NOTE: If I understand this correctly, this should work for any cable company in the USA because they all use these QAM256 frequencies.
I used the ATSC frequencies from "QAM Standard". If you have "QAM Std Alternative", "QAM HRC", "QAM HRC+3" or "QAM IRC" channels you will have to make a separate file for the one you need using these same frequencies.
1. Install Next PVR.
1a. Make a directory named C:\Temp (Stops the "Live TV Buffer" directory missing error.)
2. Copy the "United States - All ATSC Frequencies.ini" file into
C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-C
3. Right-click the "NPVR" taskbar icon, choose "Show Settings".
(If its not there, click the "NPVR"/"Start NPVR Service" shortcut first.)
In the "Devices" section, click the "DVB-C Tuner for Windows Media Center"
(NOT the "ATSC/QAM BDA 2870 TVTuner"), then after "Priority" click "Up" until this tuner is at the top.
Click "Device Setup". After "Country"/"Region" select "United States" and "All ATSC Frequencies".
Click the "Scan" button....
In the Settings -> Clients GUI it's only possible to specify a web server port up to 9999. So I enter a higher port number directly in config.XML and restart NPVR. That seems to work ok, but if I re-enter the Settings -> Clients GUI it throws an error. Shouldn't it be possible to specify a port up to 49151 ?
Hi,
I've been running v3.7.7 since I first installed NPVR in July. I've seen this issue since I installed the program however I've just been dealing with it. I searched the forum and couldn't find anything the same, so I apologize if this is a duplicate.
The issue I'm seeing is that I setup a recurring recording by recording all episodes across all stations. When I first setup the recurring recording, it will record all of the episodes that meet the criteria (sometimes I already have the episode recorded so it skips over it, as it should). However, the recordings stop after the EPG data runs out and it doesn't update when the EPG data is refreshed (refresh happens nightly but only runs for the duration of the data at time of recording setup which is about 10 days worth). I never see the recording in the "recurring recordings" section, only individual recordings in the "pending recording" section. I've tried the "remove history" command to clear things out and try again. So bottom line - every time I setup a recurring recording, it is never setup as "recurring" just a series of individual recordings in the pending recording section. I've tried for multiple shows across stations just to test it out and I have not had any success. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
