I am trying to get the Directv Serial Utility for channel changing located at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...irectv.zip. However, it requires a username/password. Is there an alternate way to get this file or a way to create a username at the gbpvr.com website? I did not see a link to register.
Had a SSD fail and had to completely rebuild my main Kodi box. I use Kodi for the front end and NextPVR for the backend for live TV and recording. I also had it set up with a menu option to open x-newa and another to just do directly to the web client. I manged to find the 2.4.9 zip, install the repository and get x-newa setup but I can't for the life of me get the menu option set back to go directly to the web client.
Can someone point me in the right direction please.
I'm hoping for help on why a particular recording can not be played by NextPVR or VLC. The recording was made by NextPVR 3.7.7 on 7/13/16 at 10pm. It's a 4-second 10MB clip at http://expirebox.com/download/750849b8ef...37f08.html. Until now, I have always been able to play whatever NextPVR recorded. It is playable by AVS Media Player and generates a different GraphStudioNext graph than that of a normally VLC-playable recording.
Sub, I know I come in with some odd requests, but bear with me on this one!
Sky UK regularly re-brands its channels for marketing purposes (Sky Movies is now Sky Cinema, Sky Sports 5 was Sky Sports Ashes for the cricket, etc). Would it be possible to have NextPVR rescan the transponders and rename the channels that have been selected within my channel lists? Not to add new channels, only to check the names of the existing channels, maybe against the SID?
I started adding my recordings. Mainly series. I noticed I was able to schedule the same series more than once. Can NextPVR be setup so you don't schedule a recording more than once for the same thing? If not, can we get that feature added at some time?
Attempted to read much of the documentation. Using a Hauppauge WIN-TV DCR 2650. All systems lights are green. Worked swimmingly on WIN7/WMC, but WIN10 upgrade has been a pain. When I scan the channels (the Hauppauge shows up), no channels are detected. Really frustrating. Am sure it is something simple, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.
Appreciate in advance for your patience. I do not code, but have been around computers for 30 years and these types of hurdles drive me batty.
Recently, Iâve started having problems with X-NEWA/Kodi playing some of my recordings. (Via SMB shares from path substitutionârecorded with HDHR Prime) When it starts playing these recordings, the display will show âWorkingâ for a bit, then it will start to play, automatically pause the playback, and the display shows âBuffering⦠48%, 00:01 â 00:02â. (The percentage and times will vary somewhat from recording to recording.) If I then press âPlayâ, it will begin playing, but the file duration just shows the length played (and increases second by second as the playing continues).
In the attached log file, I'm seeing:

This "Consider increasing the value for the 'analyzeduration' and 'probesize' options" message is the same that you were asking about in the reference post. So I'm wondering if you found a way to increase this value?
Interesting side-effect: I use .edl files genereated by comskip. When the playback gets to the beginning of a skip point, it appears to hang. At first, I would press the stop button and give up trying to play that file via Kodi. Then one time, I was busy doing something else, and didn't hit the stop button quickly. And after an amount of time (approximately?) equal to the length of the skip point, it would begin playing again. So it is sort of "muting" the commercial, although the video display remains the last frame from before the commercial and there is no visual indication that it is still doing something. Very strange! But, now I know how to work-around the problem and play the entire file via Kodi.
After playing with the excellent iOS App, I am looking at options for allow access to my server when outside of the local network.
From a security and paranoia standpoint, I'm very reluctant to simply use port forwarding to open port 8866 to the outside world as I do not believe there is any encryption of passwords or data, prevention of brute forcing passwords etc. (as Sub has previously mentioned, the web server is not hardened or designed for access outside of the local LAN).
I'm currently looking at the option of installing an OpenVPN server on my NPVR box and using the iOS client to establish a secure VPN connection before launching the NextPVR App.
Has anyone else tried a similar configuration? If not, I'd be more than happy to put some documentation together.
I have purchased the iOS app and it's looking very good! I do however have an issue with my iPad and video orientation.
If I start the playback of a recording in landscape mode, all is well and the video fills the screen correctly. If I either rotate or start in portrait mode then rotate to landscape mode, the video is very small and fills only the lower left quadrant of the screen.
Is this a known issue or would you like some further information or example recordings (UK OTA Freeview .ts streams)
