I am one of the hold outs from Windows 7 and wanting to convert to Win 10 before next week when I will have to pay for it. I have a Silicon Dust HomeRun Prime cable card device setup to the storage drive of my computer which has served me well for years. But WMC is gone from Win 10 as we all know. I have 30 or more hours of HD TV programs recorded from WMC in the .wtv format that I would like to import into Next PVR which uses the .xml format. I'm so happy to be able to finally find a simple program like NPVR because I found Kodi just to damned complex for an old guy like myself. Is there an easy way to convert the WMC files to .xml so that I don't loose all that programing when I upgrade to win 10? I would certainly be grateful for any assistance that anyone may be able to offer.

Two suggestions I have.

After the search, it would be really nice to be able to group by title. WMC has this feature. It just shows one title for each movie. You click on it and it gives you options for other showings.


It would be nice to be able to search for series. Schedules Direct does not always seem to but this in genre. But I think the showType might list series. It would be nice to be able to search on showType.

I'm attempting to update the EPG via a batch command and it seems as though NPV isn't running the batch file.

I've placed the file named "UpdateEPG.bat" in the following folder (C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts) and have set the time in the app but it doesn't appear to kick off, any ideas?

The .bat file works as I can manually kick it off and the tvguide.xml file is updated.

I have been trying out schedule direct and just spent a while linking the channels correctly to the right SD information.
I then thought I would refresh the EPG to see how much data SD actually gave & I got a crash when it gets to the stage : updating recording schedule
It pops up an error NextPVR has stopped working and allows me to debut or close program.

I have attached my NPVR.log file below in case that helps.
I have not included other logs have they have not been changed for at least an hour (having opened and investigated the logs myself).

There seems to be a bug where comskip pauses after skipping a break and requires pressing the ff button to resume play. Any help on a fix will make my wife extremely happy. Thank you.

Upgraded to Windows 10 again. No problems this time apart from this one minor niggle. Although Ir.exe is listed as a startup program in Win10, and set to start automatically, it never does start.
(Ir.exe is the driver for Hauppauge remote controls, which work perfectly with NextPVR once the program is added to Irremote.ini as per the Wiki).
Ir.exe runs fine when I double-click on the .exe, or use 'Restart IR' in the Hauppauge folder, so not a big deal but it always started fine in Win7...
Anybody else experienced startup programs not running in Windows 10? Some threads on Win10 forums say turn off UAC, but that seems a bit drastic...

BTW only upgraded to NextPVR from GBPVR a couple of weeks ago - the end of the Radio Times XMLTV guide data was the final push I needed - I may have been the last GBPVR user on the planet

I finally bit the bullet, moved away from GPPVR (!) and migrated to NPVR running on Windows 10 (64 it).

I have two capture devices. Both are USB, one is a DVB-T HVR-900H and the other a HD PVR (no tuner). The DVB-T tuner appears to work fine but I am having problems with the EPG on the HD PVR.

Since it's not a tuner per se I plan to use this to capture from my STB via S-Video and control the STB using USB-UIRT (that has yet to be worked out). So I created a test channel on the HD PVR and indicated that the EPG was coming from a XML listing. This same listing used to work fine on GBPVR and also NPVR on Windows XP. But when I ask to update the EGP, after scanning the UHF channels NextPVR has stopped working when apparently trying to read the XML file.

The attached is a sample of the XML file I am using. The actual file has about 250K lines if that is causing the problem.

Any ideas what could be going on here? Any logs I can post?

When watching a channel on Kodi with a Next PVR backend, I am unable to switch channels without first stopping the one I am watching. This is a new issue I am experiencing and I am not sure if the issue is with Kodi, NPVR or my own problem Next PVR was recently updated to the latest version and I updated to the latest Kodi Alpha build at the same time. When I attempt to change the channel in Kodi I can see Next PVR changing the channel on my server, but then it stops sending any video after a few seconds. Kodi shows the Nexp PVR message "Tuner no longer available". If I hit Stop in Kodi then select that same channel it works every time. Attached is the log file from kodi along with npvr logs. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I am new to NextPVR. I am running it on Windows10 with HDHomerunPrime and SchedulesDirect.

I can record using the "Quick Record" selection.

However, under "Record" I see many choices such as "record once" or "record season", but selecting one of them does absolutely nothing and no recording is scheduled.

Does anyone have an idea of something I may have missed in the setup? I don't see anything that appears relevant.

I've been using the Freesat UK epg update, but after 7 days I start getting loads of holes in the guide, until I manually update the guide again.

I use kodi as my frontend, so only the nextpvr service is running, is this enough to get my epg to update?

Kodi is importing ok, because the holes are actually in the next pvr guide.
