Monthly reoccuring donation option in paypal
Posted by: ottoguy - 2016-07-07, 12:52 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

Can we please get an option to donate on paypal monthly? I'm not sure how it's setup, but I know it's possible. It's much easier for me if paypal auto-donates a few dollars every month than a lump sum that I always forget. I have one setup for wikipedia and I just setup one for OpenMediaVault. I have donated to NextPVR in the past, but not often enough for how much I use it. I'm sure it's just a setting in paypal from nextpvr's side to offer this option.

NewUser - lost on web streaming
Posted by: Richardw - 2016-07-07, 09:59 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

Your indulgence please. I have been using npvr for sometime on one machine and now have the ability to stream on the local network (Samsung phone and ipad) so feel I have done well and my thanks to all the hints in the postings as I have worked my way through the guidance.

I now want to stream to a remote location as I am soon to go on holiday.

I have a no-ip address and have forwarded port 8866 from the router to the host machine. Turning off the wifi on my phone (so it is working over a 3G service) I can access:
http://name.no-ip.biz:8866/guide.aspx
which then displays on the phone. To my mind this proves that the port forwarding is working correctly.

However I cannot then get anything to play (either from recordings or a live stream). VLC on the phone tries but reports an error of some description (it goes too quickly to be read) - and only if I manually copy the link and post it into VLC

Re: config.xml - I have changed these two settings:
<AllowRemoteTranscode>true</AllowRemoteTranscode>
<AllowRemoteStreaming>true</AllowRemoteStreaming>
to that shown as they were false.

I sense I am close but drowning in technicalities somewhere.
On the phone I have found the streaming settings and changed the port to 8866 (was 7648) and upped the buffer. Streaming and playing recordings does not work.

Host machine - win 10, latest npvr version
Samsung phone is a Note 2, VLC has been updated to latest version.

I would welcome guidance on what to try next - if logs are needed being a simple older person I will some help to make sure I do the right things.

If this is explicitly covered in the documentation then please simply point me at it - I have read it through to achieve the above.

Thanking you in advance.

Changed from comcast to Fios and Can't get NextPVR to tune now
Posted by: Pctravel - 2016-07-07, 04:12 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I had comcast working with my infinit tv 6 tuner and the cable card. Fios tech was out today, with the Ceton diagnostic tool I can get the card detected, OOB locked, Pairing shows OK, he can see it on his side, card validated, tuning channel succeeded and entitlement says OK for the channel. I think the card is ok.

I tried just firing up and rescanning the tuners and seemed to scan but because I couldn't tune I uninstalled, changed the name of the NPVR folder and deleted the registry key and did a full reinstall, scanned channels, setup my schedules direct but when I click on a channel or directory I get black screen with no sound. I tried recording but doesn't record (zero file size) but creates file. If I click on a channel and go to settings status it shows "live tv:c:\temp\channel name" but nothing shows and no sound. For Mpeg2 decoders I tried Lav, Cyberlink MPEG muxer, FFdshow, cyberlink PDVD9 all no help. Any help? Logs attached. Appreciate any assistance.

Schedules Direct EPG not marking new episodes
Posted by: drd - 2016-07-06, 09:10 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I am having a problem with the Schedules Direct EPG with NextPVR 3.7.7 under w10. I configured the channels for S.D. per the Wiki instructions. I get listings in the TV Guide after I update EPG, but none of the shows in any channels are marked new "*". As a result, none of my recurring recordings take place even though there are new episodes available. I contacted Schedules Direct and they checked their data and there were "new" flags there. Am I missing something obvious?

Decoder Problem with HD Homerun Connect
Posted by: Curly - 2016-07-06, 08:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have nextPVR 3.7.7 installed and works fine with an internal TV card in the PC.

I installed an HD Homerun Connect. Scanned the channels, setup the devices in NextPVR all good, no errors.

I can view the channels in the HD Homerun viewer

In NextPVR I can view HD channels sound and picture but on SD channels I only get the sound and blank screen. I have tried different mpeg2 decoders but they all give the same results.

In all cases the NextPVR status window shows the channel is being streamed so I'm sure it's just a decoder issue.

Any pointers for what to check ?

Cheers
Paul

  Webserver bug..
Posted by: icnivad - 2016-07-06, 11:08 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

hi i tried nextpvr in 3.6 and 3.7 versions on different windows 10 machines.
The program itself runs fine but the webserver only runs just after installation and will not restart after a system reboot.
i hoped 3.7 would fix this problem, reinstalling after eacht reboot is a bit cumbersome.
is there a fix?

Best regards, ron

Samsung DVD models supporting NextPVR Web Smart TV app
Posted by: agerdin - 2016-07-06, 07:14 AM - Forum: NextPVR Web Smart TV app - Replies (4)

Hi,

Anyone that can give some pointers of what Samsung 2014/2015 models that will support the NextPVR Web Smart TV app? Since Samsung no longer supports loading of apps through USB, the Tiezen TVs no longer can run Trummels solution. Hence I am thinking to replace my NMT with an older Samsung DVD/Blue-Ray.

Thanks,

\\Agerdin

  Recording from Roku
Posted by: chemie - 2016-07-04, 09:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I am currently using NPVR to record from a satellite. I am thinking of cutting the cord and going with Charter's new streaming service for internet-only customers which runs off of a Roku box (although I think you can run it off PC too)

I would like to continue to be able to record the TV shows. Playback off HTPC is fine as it is hookup anyway.

Can I do this?

My questions:
1. How do I select the channel/stream to record? I have not used Roku but I assume it is interactive stream selection which will not mesh with the IRblaster sending out a channel number like I have now.
2. Any concerns with copy protected HDMI signal from Roku to PC tuner card?

(I did search forums and found stuff on using Roku to access the NPVR server but that is not what I want. I want DVR of the liveTV streams (US networks mostly but I don't have good antennae option)
