When I scan for all multiplexes and all channels within those multiplexes, the list of channels seems to be in a random order (I think it may be random within the order in which multiplexes are found, ie with the mux that has the lowest UHF frequency first in the list). The well-known Logical Channel Number (LCN) for each channel does not seem to be used. Is there an easy way to tell the scanning process (either during scanning or afterwards) to assign the correct LCN (eg 1=BBC One, 2=BBC Two, 3=ITV1, 101=BBC One HD etc). I realise that I could go through and manually renumber the channels (Settings | Channels | double-click on channel | change first field in General) but this is a bit tedious; also it may get screwed up if I re-scan in the future.

Given that digital TVs and PVRs, and PC software such as Windows Media Centre, use LCNs as a way to go quickly to a channel, those LCNs are well-known so it seems a good idea if NextPVR could use them :-)

I've only tested with DVB-T (terrestrial transmission) but the same concept exists for satellite (eg Sky)

Hi, I'm a new member and have just installed NextPVR for the first time and am trying to set it up. I've searched the wiki and the forum and I'm confused as to how to organise the channels. Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction as to my next step.

I have 2 dual-tuners, so 4 devices. I've scanned and found all channels on all 4 devices.

From the sticky at the top of this sub-forum, I'm now wanting to do this:

"Here you can merge channels that are the same across multiple tuners (even of different types), map your channels to your EPG data source (critical), and change the logical channel number assigned to each channel." but I'm not sure what I'm doing.

In my channels list, as #1, I've got 4 instances of 7HD and 4 instances of ONE (which should actually be Channel 1, 7HD is channel 70). As #2, I've got 4 instances of 7flix and four instances of ABC (which is our Channel 2). The 7 channels should be number 70(7HD), 7 or 71 for channel seven etc. I've got at #3 7Perth (channel 7 or 71) and it says there are 4 sources, and at #4 I've got another listing of 7Perth with 4 sources.....

If I open "bulk map", I'm offered the opportunity to merge channels with same name. It seems that that is just merging them for the purposes of the EPG? How does this affect selecting channels to watch or record from?

Could somebody point me in the right direction for sorting this out, so that I end up with just one channel for each station with the number I know it by, eg I can get channel 7 by using #7? If I merge the channels, will the tuners still have the channels? Do I need to keep the multiple sources or I'll be disabling tuners, or???

I didn't want to start a separate thread for every request, so I thought I'd start a generic feature requests thread. Here are mine so far. Note, if these already exist, my bad. I just haven't found them yet.

1- edit a recurring recording: on the web interface I can, for instance, change the recording location. It would also be nice to be able to disable a recurring recording from both the app and the web interface.

2- setup additional options for new recurring recording: right now I can create a recurring recording, but I can't do anything like set an alternate location, set different padding time, change the type of recurrence, etc.

3- have the time format either configurable to 12h/24h or have the app use whatever is set on the phone (assuming you can query the device settings for clock settings).

I've been able to get the iOS client to crash consistently on my iPhone 6S when doing the following:

1- trying to cancel a pending recording (not 100% of the time, but much of the time)
2- trying to cancel a recurring recoding (not 100% of the time, but much of the time)
2- switch away from the tv guide before it fully loads (100% unless I let the screen fully load)

I've only recently started using NextPVR as have moved from argus.tv as they have no development for over a year. Gotta say I'm loving it so far, works well with Kodi & seems very stable.

One question I do have is about the ini files for DVB-S, is there a way to get the ini file to support kHz rather than just mHz?
I.e. currently I have :

3=11052,H,23000,34,S2,8PSK

But need to be able to do :
3=11052750,H,23000,34,S2,8PSK

I have looked online and the above is the kHz version, but when I scan with NextPVR it returns nothing, I assume because it is still looking at mHz.

I have Nextpvr 3.7.7 as my back end (just upgraded after experiencing the issue again) and Kodi 15.2 as my front. Sometimes when I am in the guide in Kodi and change the channel or a scheduled recording changes the channel it will go to channel 2 or 3 instead of the intended channel. This has happened several times and is quite frustrating for scheduled recording. When changing the channel, if it goes to channel 2 or 3 I can change it to a different channel then back and it works fine. Whether it goes to channel 2 or 3 seems to depend on whether I am going to a channel in the 200 or 300 range. I have done some searching but have not had any luck. Nextpvr logs are attached. Thank you in advance.

If Im watching live TV, and press F9, I get a box showing live TV on the right with the main menu on the left. Excellent.

How do I get the windowed live TV back to full screen *using the keyboard only*
It needs to be keystrokes only as I only use a remote, no mouse.

I have tried every keystroke I can think of but can't do it without using the mouse. My expectation would be that pressing F9 again would return to full screen. But no.

Trying out 3.7.7 with a Hauppauge Colossus. I have heard this problem elsewhere, but not seen good answer. HaupBlast runs fine from command line, but not in Live TV, even though it is set up for the device. I checked logs, and looks like channel changer is not being called at all. Anything else I can try?

I thought I'd try the app on the iPad but all it does is continually search and never find the server. I stopped the service and put the ip address in manually but it's still not working.
Is it supposed to work on the iPad now or just the iphone?
