I think I have everything setup right. I have my internet coax split using a simple coax splitter. One part goes to my modem for internet and the other goes to my tv tuner which is a KWorld UB435-Q USB ATSC TV Stick. I installed NPVR and went into settings->devices and then went into device setup for the type: ATSC device BDA 2875 TVTuner (my UB435-Q) and scanned for channels but it didn't find any.
I only subscribe for internet from time warner cable, do they not also transmit free channels on the coax as well?
I tried searching but did not run across this exact issue. Hopefully this is useful to anybody else with a similar issue.
NexpPVR has been working fine in my setup with a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-950Q. Last week I upgraded to a WINTV-dualHD USB tuner. Then the fun started ...
The new tuner worked great, except when my computer resumed from sleep/standby. I was getting a lot of recording failures. It seemed that the tuner and recording service was somehow not getting started in time and the recording aborted. Everthing else failed after that until a reboot.
I finally got into Windows 7 Control Panel> Device Manager> USB Root Hub (for the hub that was connected to my tuner)> USB Root Hub Properties> Power Management, and un-checked the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
If it's not to soon to say so, it has been recording fine for the past few days ... as well as sleeping/resuming on schedule :-)
I have tried everything i installed then i then made batch file with directory where grablite is in my c drive programs 86. Batch is in script im looking for log file to post but cant find can some one help i have spend a week and cant make it work bottom line im trying to get it to rename my files once it npvr record because. i have a name of show but all these numbers just want name thanks
I have not been able to get NextPVR changing channels by use of the windows MCE IR blaster that I have. I have tried IRSS that I found on these forums at: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...el-Changer , but I can't get it to operate properly. I'm hoping that someone here can help me find an IR blaster software that works the Windows MCE IR blaster that can be used with NextPVR.
So, I started using zap2xml for my EPG data after mc2xml stopped working right with Microsoft's changes. It works pretty well, but I just discovered something when I was getting ready for the free preview weekend on Showtime.
My system gets both the east coast and the west coast feeds of the premium channels like Showtime. Unfortunately, Zap2it (and thus Zap2xml) give both channels the same text name, and the xml file created when loaded into NextPVR seems to only recognize one of them.
Here is an example of the channel id data from my xml file - channel 865 is Showtime East, 866 Showtime West:
First time here and I want to give a big thanks to Sub and the other supporters for this outstanding program! As a long time user (10+ years) of Snapstream BeyondTV, I have finally found a replacement for my end-of-life DVR!!!
This question is not really a bug-fix request, for as far as I can see the NextPVR software is running perfectly on my setup. I have Windows 7-SP1 (32bit) and NextPVR 3.6.6 installed onto my boot drive C. I record my shows onto other physical drives D, F.
This past week I had other issues with my PC, so I decided to roll things back to a boot drive image C that I had taken a week earlier.
The weird thing now is that the newer recordings, on external drives, made since the image was taken show "Recording service not running at recording time." I can live with that, because I know I was the cause. NextPVR time-travelled a week into the past and now has no memory that these recordings were originally successful.
But NextPVR will not allow me to play the "Failed" shows from the NextPVR Recordings GUI. The only option is to delete. If I start another media player, such as Kodi, I can still play these particular "Failed" shows just fine.
So my big question, is there anything I can do to get NextPVR to mark these newer shows as "Ready"? Is there a config or database somewhere that I can update? Or is this something I should have backed up before the system restore?
Switching from tvheadend to npvr to use a HDMI Capture "card" with a Virgin Media cable box. Currently running 3.6.6 on W10 and trying to setup devices / channels, but struggling to do this with an HD-PVR2.
Pre-req: All hardware works fine. NPVR (and Kodi) can see the channel the STB is currently tuned to.
Is the channel list from the STB thats the problem.
1) I have a "lineup" file which contains the channel listings available on the STB. Can't find a way to import this XML file. Not supported I guess?

2) I have another tuner (free-to-air), works fine and uses the first 61 channels. When using "Import" on Devices and the HD-PVR2, the channels are sorted alfabetically and assigned the next free number, 62 and up:

As per the image, "BBC One London" is on Channel 74 but is supposed to be channel 101. I right click and select "Edit Channel Settings", nothing happens?
3) I "Export Channels", modify the entry for "BBC One London" and "Import Channels". "BBC One London" is now on 101. Happy days!

This is a manual and labour intensive process. Also, as the channel listing from Virgin Media changes with the seasons and various special events, it would be rather cumbersome to manually try and keep the channels within npvr upto date.
So, the question: Can this be automated? How do others do this? Has someone already written a snippet do modify npvr.db3 to do this?
Google and seaching the forums didn't turn up anything?
I have been using an old Dell business machine with a 80gig hard drive for over a year. My storage has been a 1tb passport USB drive. I have had to battle disconnects frequently and have tweaked the system with no luck. Yesterday I bit the bullet and purchased a WD 2tb internal hard drive. I used a USB drive connector and Macrium Reflect Free software. The whole process of cloning and installing the new drive went well. Now I am Archiving my 100 shows (my wife insists she will watch soon).
I settled on the Purple WD drive since it was engineered for Surveillance and would handle spinning for 24 hours straight. The old OS is Vista and there is an issue with any drive over 2tb so that's the size I settled for.
Im new here, both on the forum, and as a nextpvr user, so please forgive me if this is a basic issue
I've got a TBS6991SE dvs-s2 sat receiver. Installed drivers and the nextpvr software. working so far. Scanning for channels (its a Dual tuner card, but only one tuner is activated since i only have one CI card yet for testing)..
Software is finding channels. But when i go to live tv on my computer, it tries to change channels, and a few seconds later i get the message that the tuner were required for a recording (which it is not - since i havent told it to record anything). I assume its a failsafe errorcode or something like that.
I've browsed this forum and found nothing that really helps me. Some mentioning disable epg update during live tv. But that have been disabled all time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - and please let me know, if you need further info of any kind.
I am trying to use NextPVR to schedule a recording through the rocket from a cable box. The problem I am having is that I cannot get any audio to play. When I start the input the program tells me that I do not have a decoder selected for ACC. I tried to solve this problem by installing the LAV decoders but even after they are installed and selected I still cannot get sound to play.
