While I am overjoyed by the on screen mouse commands like FF and RW, would it be possible to have them stay visible for a little while longer? I am selecting FF to get through the commercials and can only get two clicks before they disappear. One work around is to constantly move the mouse to the lower edge of the screen each click and then return for a subsequent FF command. Keeping it on screen a little longer allowing perhaps 4 or 5 FF clicks would be ideal.
Thanks again for this update. I no longer have to keep a keyboard on my lap while watching a show.
I'm new to NextPVR and started using it to replace WMC.
I noticed that some recordings are failing, but I can't find errors in the log files.
NextPVR is recording to a NAS, the computer is running W7 Pro 64 bit with a network cable connected to the same switch as the NAS is connected to. The computer can access the NAS fine. Enough free space on the NAS as well. Computer has 2 dualport USB tuners attached and all 4 tuners are configured in NextPVR.
Examples of failed recordings (all of them are series recordings and .ts files are 0 bytes):
Neighbours Eleven 16/1/2016 12:59PM-1:49PM
Neighbours Eleven 16/1/2016 12:29PM-1:19PM
Around this time other Neighbours episodes recorded fine 11:29AM-12:19PM + 11:50AM-12:49PM + 1:29PM-2:19PM
Mythbusters SBS TWO 15/1/2016 8:55PM-10:10PM
Other programs around this recorded fine as well:
DCI Banks ABC 8:27PM-10:18PM + Escape to the country 7TWO 15/1/16 9:25PM-10:47PM
Attached are the relevant ndigitalhost and nrecord logfiles, please let me know if additional information is required as I can't work out what's happening here.
So i have hopefully set up everything correctly, but probably not since this is not working for me.
in Next PVR, i can switch between all the channels and it tunes into all of them... however in KODI, the channels are listed but it will only tune into the "main" channel. i am new to this, so not aware of the terms. basically here is my list:
4.1
4.2
7.1
7.2
7.3
13.1
13.2
13.3
21.1
21.2
21.3
33.1
33.2
33.3
so if i switch to say 33.1 it will come in properly, but if i switch to 33.2 it goes to 33.1, or 33.3 goes to 33.1... etc. happens for all "subchannels" so basically KODI is limiting the channels i can watch. my TVs can all tune into the channels properly, also Next PVR app can switch between all the channels. it has to be something with KODI but i can not figure out what.
windows 8.1
KODI v15.2
Hauppauge 1196 WinTV HVR-1265 PCI Express
can anyone point me in a direction how to fix this? i would really like to use KODI as my interface but sadly it is not tuning in half of my channels.
Newbe need help getting Guide listing. In troubleshooting a problem on my android tv box I mistakenly uninstalled the nextpvr client. Now It is no longer listed in the pvr clients. If I search it is found but will not install. I am reluctant to do to much with the Chinese android box because I have no image to reinstall from.
New user here, I just installed and tried to test 3.6.6 on a clean Windows 8.1 machine. I have a new HDHR3-US (HDHomeRun Dual) that I would like to use for pulling in ATSC video and recording shows. The tuner is working because I can view it in the HDHR View application and in Windows Media Player.
When I launch NextPVR and attempt to go through the Device Configuration, I am met with an error. I go into Settings > Devices. The program scans for and detects both of my tuners without issue. I then select Tuner 1 > Devices Setup. In the new windows I click "Scan" to begin scanning for channels, but NextPVR immediately creates an error stating "Unable to start device"
The HTPC boots with a minimum of what is needed just to do the work of recording and playback, the startup consists of 2 regular programs, the tray and the GUI. In 3.5.7 (prior version), it showed up above the task bar and worked fine. 3.6.6 has changed this to show the task bar over it and requires me to click either with the left mouse (taking my Air Mouse and turning the mouse function on to do so) and clicking anywhere on the window, or by hitting the "right context menu button" (on it, which basically is a "back" button).
The codec's being used were the ones recommended (and I left them that way), upon boot this morning, it did it's usual EPG update and ran the GUI. At noon today I was wanting to watch a pre-recorded show, which normally has no problems, but today, the audio was chopping up badly. I've seen this with 3.5.7 and figured it was an isolated incident, but now I'm seeing it in 3.6.6. The only sounds being used are by the software, a restart cleaned the issue up (the machine was on for 4 hours with the GUI sitting idle, no other sound was played and the TV wasn't on until I went to use it). I've run into this once before with 3.5.7 as I said, but the result is, after having it running any sound trying to play on anything results in an issue (sounds like a damaged codec), now some shows the last time would play fine, just ones on ABC wouldn't (most likely a specific codec being used by the LAV Audio to play back the sound for that channel's specific audio encoding). Not totally frustrating, 20 seconds to restart and I was back to playing.
The TV shows I'm recording, seem to lose the first few seconds of their slotted time, and I do see the machine power out of sleep well beforehand, which is confusing as to why I'm losing the start of shows. Not sure what to say about that, but it was doing this with 3.5.7, not talking half a second, but seconds (like up to 30 seconds), shows end on time though and as of yet, I've never seen a show say 60 mins for length, always 59 minutes and random seconds from 30 up. Recording to an SSD (no spin time).
The "back" button (right context menu, right mouse button): I turned it off in the settings so I could use the back button feature, the problem is, there's no "Settings" in the menu, so I can't get at it without plugging a mouse in, is there an option for that or can there be one? (I've not had time to look honestly.)
The Guide (works great by the way, like the width limit you put on it, it's fine, though I did reduce it to the value you were aiming for as a max), does it's job nicely, but I push the back button and the menu flashes and goes away. I have to double tap the back button to get it to stay, is this normal? Also, I'm scrolling up and down using the arrows on the remote and say at 9PM, looking for shows and as I scroll up or down, I wind up at 6PM, because a show went from 8 to 10PM on one channel (movie) and the one below it was a 2 hour premier at 7PM and a 90 minute show on another one at 6PM. Makes it cumbersome to go guide surfing when the spot the guide is at for time, keeps changing.
Short and Long skips with the >> and >| keys on the remote, take 2 seconds to show any video (DX9 -> EVR, tried everything, still happens), audio still works fine and is rather instant, so I can at least listen for hopefully commercial bits while trying to skip past them manually when comskip can't find them (typically due to channels squishing the screen to roll a banner across the bottom when something "newsworthy" happens). Not sure how you're reading the mpeg stream (I know audio is easier to skip through than video), but would it be possible to scan and find a proper frame to work from in the video and stop there rather than a calculated jump? If you could, I don't think anyone would be upset if you jumped X seconds and a few frames past, just to show a frame on-screen at the end of the skip. Just find it difficult at times knowing if I push the >> (10) or >| (30), if I'm in the show or the commercials still. Also when comskip thinks it hit a commercial and it jumps half way through the part of the show, so then I have to go looking. Slows down the viewing of some shows.
I recommended the NextPVR to a customer who *was* using another program (not naming it), which was giving him grief, while NextPVR actually runs quieter in the background than his old program, has a working guide, his viewing of Live TV is a black screen (no sound either). I've tried the recommended codecs on his machine and everything except EVR (since it's an XP machine), am at a loss for what to do. The title bar does show the stream being shown (uncertain if it's actually recording anything, as I didn't have a lot of time to deal with it, will look into it more next week). But, while in the settings on 3.5.7 and 3.6.6, a crash happens, if you can give me more information (if NextPVR can log everything for you to find it), what logs you want when it happens, just ask, it's very repeatable, see attached. It happens regularly when in the settings menu, but not when using the GUI alone.

I found a post from when I bought it 26 Jan 2008, almost exactly 8 years ago. It has served me very very well. Unfortunately, whilst it is still functional, it started singing recently, or rather, a high-pitched electronic whine, which doesn't go away and annoys the dog.
So I am glad I bought the PCH-A110 about 5 years ago (mid-2011), as a replacement, as all this time I thought I will never use it when I stumbled over it searching amongst my pile-of-old-and-once-useful-but-now-useless-electronic-gadgets-from-day-gone-by.[URL="http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?30857-Popcorn-Hour-A-100&p=253781#post253781"]
