  Live TV for a few seconds?
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2016-01-12, 03:43 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

When I try streaming, I get about 5 seconds of live tv before it cuts out. Interestingly. If i stop the stream, and then restart it and press play and launch external player again, the new file replays the same 5 seconds.

  Command line to automatically remux after recording
Posted by: SpaceballOne - 2016-01-11, 06:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi, I have NPVR set up as a backend to record OTA content from HD Homerun. I watch later using the Plex app on my Roku 3. I found that the .ts files that NPVR records to must be transcoded by Plex in order for my Roku to play them (not ideal).

I've learned that I can remux these files into an mp4 container and this will eliminate the transcoding. I some tools to do this and experimented a little over the weekend with varying success.

In the end, it seems like calling ffmpeg from my PostProcessing.bat file would be the best way to automatically remux the file after recording is complete.

1) Does anyone have a string that does this already? I would think that this should be fairly common

2) I already have a line in my PostProcessing.bat file that renames the recorded file into S##E## format that Plex needs for indexing. Since the command to remux would change the file name from .ts to .mp4, would this stop working? Put another way - how should I order these two operations so that they both work?

Thanks!

  What is the proper way to scan for new channels
Posted by: mrdally204 - 2016-01-11, 05:14 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

My area was lucky enough to receive 2 new OTA channels in the past few weeks. The process I took to scan for these channels resulted in all my season recording to now work any longer (consider this a feature request?). THe process I took was to delete my tuners from the list, rescan with one tuner to find all the channels, including the 2 new ones, then apply the EPG data back to the channels. Having done this left me with all my season recordings with ?? as the channel and no obvious way to edit it.

1. How should I go about adding/scanning for new channels in the future.

2. Can you please add a feature to change the recording channel in case this were to happen in the future. It would be nice to be able to change it's channel Smile

  I Really love Nextpvr
Posted by: Mezzum - 2016-01-11, 01:40 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I like most, are looking for a replacement to the ultimate demise of Windows Media Center which since Windows 8 has not acted right anyway. And with the restriction of only 4 tuners and I have 6 makes it useless...in comes NextPVR.

With or without KODI this program works like a champ. WELL WORTH YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT!!

I see a few baulk at the price for Schedules Direct, really? TiVo charges 15 bucks per month for the same thing so a couple bucks a month is a steal.

We do need more detailed videos on the installation of NextPVR, but the ones I found got me through the setup and my uninstallation of Windows Media Center.

If your looking to replace WMC, this is the answer, and please support this project, I am.

  NextPVR Settings tells me DirectX Runtime not found, using SW rendering
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2016-01-11, 12:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Screenshots and logs attached. This happened when I upgraded to 3.6.6. I didn't run Settings after the upgrade and didn't notice this problem until today. DXDiag says I have DirectX 11 installed.

  Closed Captions
Posted by: gsurman - 2016-01-10, 08:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Closed Captions on my recordings do not show up when played in Windows Media player/center.
They show up fine on the pvr player and Wintv 8 player. I have the latest Next pvr version. Should
I use a different Video renderer (using VMR9) or a different MPEG2 decoders (using Microsoft DVT-DVD)?
This isn't a major problem, love the program Smile.

  Decoder problem with one channel
Posted by: jcfaber1 - 2016-01-10, 06:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have a 2 TV setup using 2 computers. One computer(PC 1) has NextPVR installed on it and Kodi. The other PC (2) has Kodi and is running the NextPVR client pointing to the IP address of PC 1. Every thing on PC 1 is working fine. On PC2, there is 1 channel - Showtime, that is highly pixelated and blotchy. This is true if live TV or a recording. If you watch a recording on PC 2 using Cyberlink Power DVD14 it has the image problem. If I watch the recording using VLC everything is great. This PC 2 had NextPVR installed on it and I had registered Power DVD14 on this machine. I have uninstalled NextPVR and am using the client. I am running windows 10 on both machines. Any ideas? I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask.
Thanks
John

  Channel setting error and Win10 help needed
Posted by: NickH - 2016-01-10, 10:14 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi,

I installed NextPVR yesterday and am trying to get it to work. The first issue I have is that it is not picking up all channels. I live in the UK and use the Meridian/Midhurst transmitter. tracking it down the United Kingdom - Meridian - Midhurst.ini file contains:

Code:
[TERTYPE]
1=United Kingdom
2=Meridian - Midhurst

[DVB]
0=6
1=1,706000,0,0,8
2=2,746000,0,0,8
3=3,770000,0,0,8
4=4,778000,0,0,8
5=5,794000,0,0,8
6=6,802000,0,0,8
but the Midhurst transmitter uses 706, 738, 746, 754, 770 and 778MHZ. Is it OK just to edit the file switching things around a bit?

Also I need an MPEG2 decoder. What is the best thing to do in Win10? It does not find the one in TotalMedia (the rubbish program which came with the August DVB-T210 dongle). Where can I source one from, and preferably free?

TIA,

Nick
