I have 2 desktop monitors and 1 tv for a total of 3 monitors. They are in extended setup and the tv is 3rd. When i maximize, it either goes to primary or secondary. never the actual tv. what should i do.
btw, i'm switching over from beyondtv. i still have a sagetv setup on another pc, but beyondtv has been having issues lately with overlay and 3d accelerated.
Wife acceptance factor on NPVR's series recording from live TV is high and may be enough to score a win over Kodi in our ongoing battle to replace our beloved WMC. However, NPVR tends to crash on me multiple times an evening, and the wife acceptance factor for crashing in the middle of her show is very low. I'm very PC savvy, but am not sure how to troubleshoot this. Nothing else crashes. Windows remains stable post-crash. Nothing obvious in the logs (attached), and I can restart NVPR without a problem after a crash. Appreciate advice.
that is not the name of the encoder....never was! and it's named HVR-22XX? looks like a oops edit...
the device filter is NOT a BDA ATSC tuner! why would that be in analog devices?
plus i notice a few other tuners that used to be in there are gone...
and another of my analog tuners that used to be in there is a generic conexant tuner:
Code:
<Device filter="Conexant 2388x Video Capture">
<Name>Conexant 2388x</Name>
<Type>SOFT_ENCODE</Type>
</Device>
I'm not sure you can put the 2388x one in there as it is the same as an existing haupp. card [BlackBird] but it doesn't have a hardware encoder on board like the haupp. one..
just not sure what happened as i submitted those a long time ago and they have worked before..they *were* in the list...
After moving to a new place that actually has OTA reception, I started playing around with the HDHomeRun setup I used way back when in college. After many hours of setup, I thought I had everything working. I was able to get schedule information synced every day, I had commercial detection tagging all my recordings, life was wonderful. Being an old man, I was more or less only recording Jeopardy. My roommate then tried recording something and had a weird problem. He recorded a program on a different station, and shortly after starting, the screen froze and he was back in the recording menu with a prompt asking if he wanted to delete his finished recording. I quickly discovered that there was a commercial detected at the start of the program. If I removed the commercial tags, the recording would play just fine. However, if I attempted to skip around the recording at all, I got a frozen screen for about 10 seconds, and then eventually was booted back to the recording menu with the end of video prompt. As a sanity test I opened the raw file in a few other video players (vlc/mpc) and the video worked just fine. My guess is that there's just enough corruption that nPVR can't build a seek index, but my other video players are smart enough to just deal with it. I use ffdshow to decode both the sound and audio, and to confirm that the problem wasn't there I tried alternating disabling the video and audio decoders. In both tests, the playback would end as soon as I did any skip. As a further test, I tried recording a few other short bits from the "bad" station. I could skip just fine in these tests. Im guessing that the actual recording was just long enough to pick up enough corruption to break everything.
I finally started looking through the npvr.log hoping to find anything. This is what I saw when I made a skip in the "corrupted file"
Nothing here is alerting me to any problems. As a control, I wanted to see what events were logged when I skip in a functional recording

Everything looks mostly the same for 35 lines, but the corrupt recording has a 30 second gap before returning an eventcode of 0x0003 and 0x0001 which means nothing to me. At this point I'm out of ideas. Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this problem, or at least better track down where the problem is?
I'm using a Pinnacle 800i PCI card. Did a successful channel scan (USA Over the Air). Found 18 channels which is what it should have found. I'm using a xmltv.xml file (using zap2xml). EPG integrates correctly, and I have the channels mapped to the XML file properly.
My issue is no matter what channel I tune to, it's actually tuning to 11.3. When I review the channel details, the actual frequency seems to be correct and match the same frequencies found when I used Argus.
Doesn't seem to be a hardware issue as the software that comes with the card tunes correctly, as did Argus when I had that installed (uninstalled it to try NPVR)
Any clues as to where I should start?
Will a log file be beneficial?
Also not related to this but figured why not ask here instead of creating a new thread.
Audio seems to be delayed by about 300 to 500ms from the video. Decoder options are as follows:
Video Rendered: EVR
Audio Rendered: Default
MPEG2 Video: PCTV Systems MPEG2 Decoder
H.264 Video: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder (only option)
HEVC Video: Disabled
MPEG1 Audio: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
AC3 Auido: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
E-AC3 Audio: Disabled
AAC Audio: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder (only option)
HE-AAC Audio: Disabled
"Only use mapped audio decoders during.ts playback" checked.
Just as the title states. I have a season recording set up for "Last Man Standing" TV show. The metadata that the scraper brought back was for "Last Man Standing" movie. Obviously the art and synopses do not match what the TV show is about. Can the scrapers be smart enough to know only look for a tv show or movie based on the EPG information? Maybe it is already trying to do this and it was a fluke issue
NPVR suddenly stops working. Current recordings stop growing in size. Scheduled recordings will start but never grow beyond 0 size. Can't watch live tv either, in none of the tuners. But I can't see any error message anywhere. Restarting the services does nothing, the only thing that helps is a reboot.
May anybody steer me in the right direction to fix this issue, I have attached the logs 20 minutes or so after i noticed the problem again.
Thanks
My first post here ... just installed NextPVR, and so far it's not too difficult.
My country-region is Australia-Townsville. A scan of my DVB-T card (Asus U3100) failed to pickup two stations. I checked the Australia-Townsville.ini file for tuning frequencies, and they're out of date
Australia-Townsville.ini should now look like this (at 12-Jan-2016):
[TERTYPE]
1=Australia
2=Townsville
My question is what is the meaning of the "0=5" line? (Other than it's mathematically incorrect.)
Is five stations the allowable limit.? I am in the process of creating a correct channels.xml for this area.

Australia-Townsville North (Suburb is called North Ward) is now:
[TERTYPE]
1=Australia
2=Townsville North
