  V3.6.6 crashes on EPG update
Posted by: gb2011 - 2016-03-30, 01:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

A couple of days ago I upgraded to V3.6.6. and I can no longer update the EPG. Both manually selecting the update from within settings and the scheduled daily update causes NPVR to crash and stop the recording service I had been using v3.3.8 for a while without any issues. I use MC2XML for my EPG and NPVR seems to crash after running updateEPG.bat and while processing the xmltv file. Logs and xmltv file attached.

Any idea what is causing the crash?

Can I downgrade to V3.3.8?

Eric

  NextPVR architectural question
Posted by: rogbott - 2016-03-29, 10:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I am using NextPVR 3.6.6 running on a Windows 10/IBM Thinkpad R61 laptop as a backend. For viewing I use the Kodi plugin and run Kodi on an Amazon Fire TV. I have a HD HomeRun Prime with a Cablecard from Comcast. I think they recently stitched to h.264 for HD channels in my area. Everything works fine but I have noticed there is are frame drops when I am watching sports. It's not horrible, but it definitely makes the picture less than smooth. My question is pretty basic- does NPVR backend process the signal before sending it to the client? Even if it is a simple passthrough, would I benefit from upgrading from my laptop even though I don't use it for viewing at all? Or would it make no difference. Thanks!

  Recording failed
Posted by: peejay - 2016-03-28, 10:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

2 weeks in a row I have had exactly the same thing happen.

On 28/03/2016 a recording was scheduled for 7:30 - 8:30pm and then another for 9:00-10:00pm both with 10 min pre-padding and 15 min post-padding.
The 7:30pm recording went perfectly but the 9:00pm recording did not occur.
It appears that my computer went to sleep after the 7:30pm recording and then tried to wake up a second later for the 9:00pm recording but failed to awaken properly.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this happening again.

Paul

Advice needed on changing tuner card and keeping all existing channel info
Posted by: Scobham - 2016-03-28, 10:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi,

I am looking for some advice.

I am changing my dual DVB-S2 card to a quad version. (The device identifiers will change). Is there any simple way of doing this, avoiding the need to re-scan and re-order all of my existing channels which originally took quite some time. Will I have to re-create my existing series recordings? I am hoping I can do something with the channel export/import options.

Thanks,

Steve

  SAT>IP Tuner Not Found
Posted by: Beamer - 2016-03-27, 03:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

Is it possible to force NPVR to search a specific IP address for a SAT>IP tuner?

I am trying to make NPVR work from a remote location that uses a linked routers. Each router can access each others network but unfortunatley I cannot see any facility to provide the IP address within the setup.

  Listing Of All Upcoming Movies
Posted by: ga_mueller - 2016-03-26, 04:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I just added a bunch of channels and with Comcast basic digital that comes to around 80 total. I'm wondering if there is any way to view a list of all upcoming movies, using the standard guide? Or any alternative way to do this... I'm on Schedules Direct if it makes a difference... thanks.

  USB-UIRT zones
Posted by: joeags - 2016-03-26, 04:16 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I'm using usbuirtsend.exe to transmit a signal to my cable box. I know that the USB-UIRT has the potential for 3 zones, and I would like to add another cable box. Does anybody know if there is a way to use usbuirtsend.exe to select the zone to use, or would I have to use dedicated software to control it this way?

Some UK Channels missing after scan
Posted by: Omarvel - 2016-03-26, 01:38 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Hi, After scanning for UK channels (DVB-T), I realized that many are missing, most notably all the BBC channels. I tried this on two different PCs and got the same result. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the TV signal because I had no problem using the same TV tuner, the same PCs, and the same region with WMC, Totalmedia, and Mediaportal. I would prefer to use NextPVR though as it appeals to me the most. Any help would be appreciated.
