Hi
I just tried 97.13 but couldn't get it to run
I get this error on starting config:

Just a guess, but it sounds like you had an old version of NativeUtilities.DLL.

You could just try deleting that file, and the windows MSI installer will replace it with the correct file next time you try to run the config app.

I should point out again, that I dont know for sure this is the cause of your problem. Just a guess.

I'm having the same issue and also trying to install on Win2k SP4. My version is completely unpatched otherwise. I tried to remove the NativeUtilities.dll file and having the Windows Installer replace it but it didn't help.

I'm guessing you either need to update the version of Windows Media Player, or install MDAC 2.6.

That was quick. Don't you know it's Labor Day weekend..... and shouldn't you be out camping or something?

Anyway, I saw the note about needing MDAC 2.6 on the front page (something the wiki doesn't mention) so I downloaded and installed that. No luck....

Now, as much as I would hate to have to do so, I am planning to upgrade WMP. I'm curious, though, what part of WMP is used for the GBPVR config? Also, is there a reason this information is also missing from the wiki link above?

Finally, is there a chance running an older version of GB-PVR would help, and if so, where would I find one?

EDIT: Upgradeing to WMP 10 fixed it. Again, perhaps both of these things should be mentioned in the wiki? just a thought..... thanks!

GB-PVR uses WMP for the display of music visualisations. Even if you're not using this feature, GB-PVR has this dependency, so requires the WMP components to be present.

Because I dont know the exact details. GB-PVR is only tested on XP. I've heard from others it runs on 2000, but said they needed to update WMP. I've got no more details than that.

No there isnt. I've long since deleted these versions that didnt depend on WMP.
