What I would like to do is confusing so I hope can explain it clearly.
Background:
Recently I discovered GB-PVR and am using it on my bedroom HTPC (WinTV PVR 150 and ir blaster to dish receiver). It works great and I love it. I use web admin and the enhanced plugin to access the bedroom HTPC/GB-PVR across the lan and schedule recordings from the office PC. I really love that. You all helped me set that up and I appreciate the help.
The situation (this has nothing to do with the bedroom HTPC):
Besides scheduling recordings on the bedroom HTPC, my office PC has its own USB-UIRT attached. Currently, I use Girder and Netremote to change channels on my satellite receiver across the room (in my office). This PC does not have any PVR card and/or software on it. In effect, I use the office PC as my remote control device. This works great, but I would like it to work better.
My desire:
I would like to be able to pull up a TV Guide, choose a program and have the TV guide blast the correct channel out the USB-UIRT and have it change the dish channel on the office receiver. I would love this TV guide to be the enhanced GB-PVR plugin TV guide however I see that âwatchâ is not an option in that tv guide (only ârecordâ and âtake no actionâ)
Note:
I use the WinTV supplied Ulead DVD factory to edit recordings on my office PC. In order to get Ulead loaded, I had to put the WinTV card into the PC, load the drivers, then load Ulead and then remove the PVR card. Ulead wonât load unless it sees the drivers. I figure I could place the card into the PC and then load and configure the irblaster software as well and then once again remove the card.
Bottom line:
Is this possible using GB-PVR (hopefully) or possibly some other solution?
