Yeah, after a while of googling trying to find out what kind of output connector it had, I finally noticed the link to the user manual on Matrox's site and in it the nonstandard cable. I've queried the seller about the cable as I'm not inclined to try to make my own nor pay three times the price of the card to buy a replacement.

I made a bid before I discovered this though. Hopefully the seller won't attempt to hold me to it if he can't produce the cable.

You can also make your own cable (VGA out to Scart). Details are widely avalable by googling.I have to agree it does the best TV quality I have ever seen.

However it didn't have enoght umph when combined with my fanless VIA C3 1.2ghz 512Meg system. As it has no hardware decoding support.

Too much hassle compared to buying one really. I've only been able to find spares for the 450 though. They were reasonably priced but as far as I can figure not compatible with the 400.

How does the 450 compare? I see that's still available new.

Agh, I hadn't even thought about that. Sigh. At worst I'll either scrap the idea or pull reeeeal looong cables from my main box to the TV set and let that handle it. It's got grunt to spare.
