I like to get a message on my network when a recording is done.
using "NET SEND * GBPVR recording ready." in postprocessing.bat
does not work.
Any ideas why, and how to fix it ?

tnx.

Is your messenger service set to automatic? XP SP2 disabled it by default (due to it being exposed to the internet for spammers as well !!!!!!).

no, I have the correct messenger settings.
I am using NET SEND commands in several bat files and they work fine.
But not in postprocessing.bat.

Its probably something to do with the fact the recording service is running under a different user account.

The system account doesn't have rights to access a network resource in XP. you would have to create an account and then allow it to act as a service. and run the gbpvr recording service with that account.

or use something like SU or runas to elevate privileges. However, I have used SU in batch files and passing a password sometimes if diffcult. you must use some io redirection and pipes.
