Timeshift problem

The problem I'm having is that when I pause Live TV in PVRX2 or GB-PVR, the screen goes black, and sometimes brings up the OSD for the Timeshift controls. No timeshifting occurs. The bar at the top of the screen stays at 0:0:00. I hit play or pause and I'm kicked out of Live TV and put into the main menu.
I've searched the forums and the wiki without much to resolve the problem.
Maybe others have somehow figured it out or never had the problem in the first place.
I've tried different video renderers with different results.
VMR9 (both custom and fullscreen) show the OSD.
EVR just goes black.
Overlay Manager (looks horrible and pixelated) crashes the program.

Using GB-PVR 1.2.9
Hauppauge 1600
P4 3.0ghz
1.5g memory
ATI 9600XT 256mb
XP pro

Using VMR9 Custom, reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I've managed to fix the problem myself. After looking for the logs, I noticed that I didn't have a directory called c:\temp (where the live tv timeshift buffer was supposed to go). I added in c:\temp and now all works good.
