Not so much poor responsiveness at the gbpvr menu level which is fine, but....

Pressing stop while watching a recording on my MVP takes me back to the menu almost immediately. Doing the same on an HDMI PCH takes what - half a dozen seconds?. What can I tweak to make the PCH as fast?

Switching the TV on with an MVP display the menu is there right off.
With the PCH it sits there with "no signal" for ever, until you press a key and wait.... and wait.... ah, there it is.

I, too, am puzzled by the long/convoluted connect time when the TV is turned on with the PCH. It is a real pain if the PC has been re-booted since last session. I never know quite what I am supposed to do when faced with a stubborn black screen. If I am lucky, after pushing a key or two, and waiting, I might get to the start up sequence. Been meaning to try to suss out the correct actions to take but at the moment it is a WAF no-go zone!

I am guessing that you both aren't using the power button to return to the NMT player. This would likely prevent the black screen.

Probably yes, but doing that requires the navigation to the scripts to fire up your software again. If the TV is only going off for a shortish while, then it is easier for the family to leave the NMT on. When the new firmware is released and the scripts sound like they may have to be tweaked, then I may investigate the autostart scripts this time round as we currently don't use the NMT for anything other than gbpvr.

I just leave gbpvr running, and I can't say I get any blackscreens on my Samsung LCD over HDMI.

Could it beTVs handshaking differently when they are turned on?

I do get dropped back to the NMT menu sometimes when I have left it for a day or so, or if I restart the recording service, but it usually has the nmt screensaver.
