Specs
Hauppauge HVR-1800
Time Warner Cable
No STB

AMD AM2 X2 4200+ (2.2Ghz)
ASUS M2n-E
2GB DDR2
Ati x1300 PRO
Vista x32 SP1

A little backstory first...

So I was playing around in WinTV and I scanned clear QAM channels, a bunch came up with weird channel numbers, ill be using NBC for an example.

On my Sharp Aquios 32D40U, NBC is channel 13 and clear QAM/HD channel for NBC is 18.013 (actually, most of the clear QAM channels are 18.0XX).

In WinTV, the clear QAM channels are named qam-1, qam-2, qam-3, etc. They are also assigned a digital channel number. In this case, clear QAM NBC/HD was 3530 (I found this out by just scrolling through channels and figuring them out myself). So I can sucessfully view clear QAM channels in WinTV

Ok enough backstory...

Now I have added my analog tuner in GBPVR and works flawlessly
When I add the digital turner, GBPVR correctly detects my card. I import my XMLTV file from yapi2xml with the clear QAM channels (the locals). When i click on digital channel mapping, it detects some channels, but there is no preview :-( , so I have no clue what is what

So is this:
A) MPEG-2 rendering problem
B) Card not setup right
C) I have no clue?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance :-)

I've never gotten the preview to work with QAM on my machine. Analog and ATSC are fine. I dunno what makes it so, most people have it the other way (preview works, live TV doesn't).

I just don't map, save it, back out, go through the channels, keep track of ones that do and don't work and for the ones that do work I just write down what they are. Then I go back in and map them as needed.

You wont need to rescan or anything. It will all still be there, just go back into config and click the button, give it a few seconds, and it will pop up.

OK now I have video preview in the digtal channel mapping, but there is no audio in the preview or in GBPVR. Also, I cannot play video files on my computers (not live today). Im guessing that I do not have the correct codecs?

I normally use VLC to play videos on my computer, which does not require codecs, so im not even sure waht codecs I have on my computer.

Which codes should I use for GBPVR??

Thanks :-)
