I'm having problems with the 1.37 program. This started with the previous update. When I start the program The recording status shows 8 capture source#. I was able to resolve this by restarting the recording service several times then everything worked fine. Now, I installed the present update and everything worked fine until several days ago. The new task logo (GB-PVR) reverted to the old logo (a tv screen red/blue) when I try and start PVR 2 or start config I get a dialog box Microsoft .NET Framework stating Unhanded exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Anyway nothing happens and I cannot get into the program. I removed the program and reinstalled it an the same problem. I also reinstalled .net 2 an got a dialog that it was already installed.

did you happen to edit the config.xml file?

From the logs, it looks like it can't finish loading the XML.

To test, you could rename your config.xml to config_old.xml and rename a copy of config_master_dont_edit_me.xml to config.xml and try to start config or the tray app.

Actually - take a look at the xml file in line 31 and pos 39 you may have put an extra return in there, or not closed one of the xml tags.

Your right, when I install program it goes through the whole process then at the end there is a dialog box that says it had to quit. I continue to get 8 capture sources on the recording status when you double click the gb-pvr icon in the tray. Also as I said it is an older icon.

the 8 tuners are an indication that the recording service is not running.
Have a look in the event viewer to see if it tells you why.

Alternatively at a command prompt type
net start "GBPVR recording service" (it will tell you if it's already running, or it might close and log to the event viewer)

So is the program installed? Did you do the renaming thing with the config file? And could you see an error at the positoion in the xml I mentioned before?

Thanks a lot, JonnyCam your first message worked! Now I suspect I just trash config_old.xml? Also when I started the tray it only posted one source record.

Well, either that or find the problem at the positon I indicated in the original file.

If you have any options set in the config app which were not default, you'll have to set them again if sticking with the new config file version
