seek problem with mediamvp

I installed mediamvp today. The files are playing well. But i cant seek any video file whether mpg or avi. When i try to seek it responds very very slow and seeks just a few seconds.Is it some problem with the video decoder im using??

You most likely wont be able to seek in any avi files (since it has to do on-the-fly conversion to MPEG2), but you should be able to seek in real MPEG2 .mpg files.

While playing a .mpg file, if you press the blue button on the remote, does it report the correct duration? If not, what capture device are you using for recording these .mpg files?
