FastForward Problem Stumped You All?

This is the first time I got no response at all to a prob. It's got me stumped...but that's not surprising. I'll ask one more time.....
Anybody know why my FF on the keyboard and remote causes a progressively greater "jump backward" in the program before it commences rather than FF'ing from the last viewing point? This never happens to anyone else? It happens everytime I FF a F*ing recording.

Use short skip and not FF.

I also have similar problems with fast forward and reverse. I generally use the skip buttons. But I also have problems with these. If I skip many times in a row to get to the middle of a long recording, the playback usually crashes after about 5 skips.

I will try to find logs for this problem when I've made my system more available. It might be related to old Hauppaugge drivers, or that I'm running on an old PIII 700 Mhz with 128 kb RAM. I'm using Hauppauge PVR 350.

Are there other ways to skip halfway through a long recording without using the skip button 80 times? I know, the default skip interval can be increased, but this is not good either because I need the short skips.

Hey I see that too, with PVR350, and multiple skips. Not quite sure when or how it happens. Machine is a AMD3000? and512MB RAM. Still new, so managed to avoid doing it so far. 4 skips doesn't crash - I know(ads).

I think you can press "180" and then skip in order to skip 180 seconds. Perhaps its minutes. You can change that in the config, something like "skiptimebase" seconds/minutes, whichever is more suitable for you.
