Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else had a problem with a PVR-150 not out putting sound for some broadcast channels? I traced the problem to the card not outputting if it detects a mono audio source. The wierdness is that if I disconncet my antennea then plug it back in after the static, it will then give me stereo audio.

I just thought with alot of hauppage card owners, maybe someone had a similar problem and had a solution. Thanks.

I have a PVR250 and I have the same issue as you. I'm connected through a cable connection but signal is divided several times to connect to several TVs and my media center with gb-pvr.
In some occasions the sound is only mono and I get no sound with gb-pvr. This is very annoying when this issue appears on a scheduled recording.
I'm using hibernating mode if this matters.

Thanks
Fred

I've emailed hauppage support, I haven't heard anything helpful yet, still working my way through the system though.

I did however discover that the Channel 7 signal ( the channel I can't get sound on without fiddling with the antennea connector ), that I can recieve the channel ( although fuzzy ) with no antennea at all.

Pretty much this is the only thing keeping the system from having CWA.

( CWA.. Complete Wife Acceptance, very important for any media center )

She does complain about the slowness of the system and dropped frames when the OSD is up. I just explain the computer being used for the media center is a relic of past and I will be procuring something faster very soon.

I've found signal strength is key for the 150 at least. After I installed an amplifier (being an old school networking guy I still think of it as a repeater) my sound problems disappeared for the most part.

I had this problem, I disconnected my large roof antennae from the Hauppage 150 input, plugged in a teeny rabbit ear thing that came with a portable TV and VOILA !!! - beautiful sound on all channels (but lousy picture).

So I then used a simple antenna splitter (thus reducing the signal level maybe ??)

Anyway it worked 100% to solve my problem
