Hey All

Running v0.97.13 with no plugins (except comskip). The only patch I've done has been replaceing the backendcommon.dll to fix the problem of being unable to delete failed recordings (which worked great).

I'm using a PVR150 in and Nvidia GEForce 6800 out on a Dell-Assembled PIII-1000mhz w/ 256 ram running winXP Pro.

When I first set up GBPVR, timeshift mode worked fine. After installing the geforce 6800 I was having a problem with the OSD being cut off on either side of the display (but the TV picture fit well), so I played around with the settings until I settled on VMR9. It worked well. It was from then on that every time I entered timeshift mode, the system would freeze up (no response to alt-ctrl-del either). I waited once for a good 40 minutes as I had dinner, and no response.

I assumed it was the switch to VMR9 that started causing the problems. But today I had some free time and tried each of the other ones, one at a time. They each caused the same problem. I noticed that if I started the task manager before entering timeshift mode, I could use it to kill the process. It also allowed me to get out and see that the .mpg in the /buffer/ dir was increasing at a rate of just under 500 kbps. It continued increasing even after killing GBPVR, so I assume it was the recording service that was still alive, but GBPVR.exe was dead.

I grabbed my .logs, though I wasn't sure which ones would apply. I think GBPVR.exe.log and GBPVR.exe-native.log are the only ones from the session in question... I'll send them all anyway.

Any ideas? Something to do with the card maybe?

It might be worth setting your audio renderer back to 'system default' to see if it helps.

Ah, try running the ReRegisterFilters.bat file.

I actually changed that audio renderer right after posting, hoping it wouldn't work, and I would look dumb... : )

Hey! ReRegisterFilters.bat did the trick!!

I am going RIGHT NOW to get my pay pal account working so I can donate you $5 my friend!

Does the fact that I posted that on here mean you have to pay income tax on it? : )

I had the same problem and ReRegisterFilters.bat worked for me, too. Thanks for that!
