I used to use this program, and if you drop the PVRX2 path & exe into the command line for reschange, it will change the reso, and change it back when you exit.
(c:\windows\reschange.exe -width=1280 -height=1024 -quiet c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\pvrx2.exe)

Nice one I`ll give it a go, ps does it change the refresh rate too?

i dont want to buy a lcd that cant take 50hz
whats the paning shots like on your philips lcd and what model is it ?

its this onehttp://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cu...oid=-30633

Paning shots are brilliant when using 50hz (same as normal tv) and quite good when using 60hz

So I have a dilemma, do I go with oversized screen and a average pc screen and use 50hz, but GBPVR has stunning picture quality, or do I use a different screen resolution and have a stunning pc picture and a average GBPVR picture with slight motion/pan blur.
Or this software may let me use both.
More testing is in order I think, when I get home tonight

Cheers

Pete

What decoder you using? If it`s pure video have you applied the patch thats going around and also have you applied the quartz.dll patch too.

May helpSmile

A quick update - I've decided to bite the bullet and send this lovely Samsung TV back to Dixons.

Anyone have any suggestions on a decent 50Hz (Over DVI -> HDMI) capable 32" LCD in the UK?

Sorry Pete, I didn't see your last post..

I've decided to go for a different TV - right now the 32" version of your Philips seems to be the strong choice, I can't seem to find any other information on other TV's that will do what I'm after.. How much of the screen would you say is missing when in overscan mode? Enough to hide the sky news ticker?

I havent had much chance to play around with it, But as far as I can tell you only notice the oversized picture when using it as a pc but when using it with gbpvr you dont notice any oversize and you can see the ticker as you would in normal tv.

But I personally if I was to buy another TV. I would look for the following specs.

Pixel to Pixel mapping (The philips hasn`t got this)
1366x768 @ 50hz when on a pc (The philips hasn`t got this)

HTH`s

Wait a minute... I'm confused. You mean 50HZ Wide screens ARE NOT widely available in UK (PAL-land) ?

That worries me. I'm planning on moving to Australia and want a wide screen..

I just assumed that in PAL land, PAL TVs would be the norm. And that included a 50HZ capable HD Monitor style HDTV...

From what I can tell most run at 50hz when they have a normal feed from a dvd player, freeveiw box, etc. but when you connect a pc, they seem to only accept 60hz upwards. On mine I can set it to 75hz which I thought should be fine for pal but its worse.
So the only way I can get 50hz is in fooling it into thinking its got a HD feed and not a PC feed.

Cheers Pete
