No Playback on 1.2.9

I don't want to playback the transcoded versions in GBPVR, I just want those for my portable devices.

Well thats what the logs show you are trying to play, ie .mp4 files.

Should I still use ffdshow for playback, or is there a better a better codec I should try.

When it comes to .mp4 files, windows will decide what combination of decoders it can use. In this case, if you are using ffdshow, its probably deciding it cant be used with PVXR2.exe, and there are no other video decoder capable of playing the file so you get this failure.

If I should use ffdshow, how do I reconfigure it to work with GBPVR?

You need to view the ffdshow settings and add PVRX2.exe to the list of apps it'll be used with.

So if I want GBPVR to record my shows and transcode them the iPhone, how can I tell it to play back what it recorded and not the transcoded ones? Or am I better off not auto transcoding things I'm going to watch back in GBPVR?

It sounds like if I get rid of the mp4 files and reconfigure the codecs, it should start playing again. I'll give those things a shot and see what happens.

Is there a way to transcode the video into another directory?

I'm pretty sure if you dont tick the 'Update database to point to converted files" setting in the config app, then it'll still point to the original files.

So I removed all the mp4 files and changed the codec to a mpeg 2 codec and still the same results. What am I doing wrong? I did leave all the comskip files.

Where did you remove them? I'm pretty sure you would need to change the entries in the database.

I got it working again, it was a combination of the codec and the update database option had checked itself when I added in the conversion process.
