I had to switch back to GBPVR last night... Wife and child wanted to watch flipping X Factor :-)

I'll reactivate NPVR later on today and give the .31 version of nrecord a shot. I don't suppose you could kindly post .31 of the nrecord exe please? Or did you do a full reinstall of NPVR version .31?

cheers

I won't normal do this but afterall it is beta testing and it is worth confirming that the problem is in NRecord. I used it with a normal .33 install.

I tried it overnight with the old version of nrecord and it's working with no problems Smile

Now I've had a chance to play with a 'live' version of NPVR it's a vast improvement over GBPVR. Navigating menus and changing channel is much faster than GBPVR. TBH I was contemplating a few weeks ago replacing the PCH with a PC in the front room... now no way.

Thanks for your help Martin

cheers

I got the same problem when watching live TV via the NMT. GBPVR works better, but I get dropouts with a few seconds of black screen. In GBPVR I'm not kicked back to the guide I only get a short pause.
I switch between NPVR and GBPVR by starting and stopping the service. I will test with the older version of Nrecord.

I do have a feeling that this could be related to signal levels, I'm investigating that as well
npvr, latest with patches

Terratec T3, AverTV A-850

FYI NewUserIdAgain

Using the old version of nrecord with version .33 I get the odd pause in livetv for about 1 or 2 seconds , and then it speeds up to catch up with real-time. At worst it can happen every 5 minutes (this isn't a request for assistance, as I'm now on a 'mixed' version of npvr). I'm using satellite tuners, with a very good signal strength.

Other than that my system is very stable; I haven't had to restart the npvr service since Martin sorted out my livetv issue. Good luck with your investigations.

The rolling file for Live TV in NPVR was IMO a minor step backwards and if your machine is busy when the file rolls it might be noticeable on a PC or the NMT. When it isn't too busy it works pretty well. You can reduce the chance of hiccups with a registry setting http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post384920

Thanks for that Martin. I've increased the reg setting to 7200 (an hour) to reduce the chances of a hiccup. It also explains why when we paused the TV for a while to make tea it jumped forward when we resumed it (We gave up recording TV ages ago... we never have enough time to watch it all Smile ).

With this patch http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post393414 you should be able to use the .33 NRecord

I have the same stopping issue. I can go to the older nrecord, but would prefer to stay with a more or less stock configuration. Has sub said anything about the issue?

I read your mind look up. I am trying to beat sub's speed record by answering before messages are posted.
