They explicity construct the playback graph, wheras I let the system generate. My approach provides some advantages, allowing a wider range of post-processing filters to be automatically used, but comes with the disadvantage of unpredictable choice of directshow filters. This approach works fine for the vast majority of users, but every so often we get a user that has problems.

So there seems to be no solution if you don´t want to change the way GB works ... right ?

I am a big fan of applications that give the user the control over which decoder he wants to use instead of letting the system decide (which gives unpredictable results all the time)

A good example would be ZoomPlayer with customized media mode.

But of course I don´t expect you to change the way GB works if I am in the minority here ... [Image: biggrin.gif]

Although I would like to use GB because of it´s greater stability compared to Mediaportal it seems like I have no choice then ...

Sorry, I'm not changing it.

The user does decide, and nearly 100% of the time it'll use the decoders and renderers you specify. The only situation it wont, is if you have installed an evil directshow filter with a high merit code.

@sub:

If you don´t want to change the way, GB works, fine. But why not add a audio delay feature that would give the user the ability to influence AV sync? Adding a negative value in there could get rid of the problem, no ?

Just get rid of whatever filters are cause your problem, and it will go away.
