I'm going to post this again elsewhere but I thought I'd add to this thread aswell. Since a rebuild a while back using Intervideo Codec's I hadn't had to use the old Quartz.dll - Recently I've started testing NZ's Freeview HD and my problems came back (probably due to the Cyberlink Codec from PDVD8 for HD playback) so I again replaced the Quartz.dll with the version 6.5.1.902 and it looks to have fixed my problem.

Same as before the problem was - I could start a recording playing and it would play fine, once I skipped forward or back it would often start playing jerky (Like it was dropping every second frame) - by skipping back and forth a few times it would usually come right again. It definately only occurred on HD recordings and i *THINK* it was only occuring on TV3/C4 recordings - I didn't test this exhaustively but I don't remember it doing it when my wife was watching upscaled Shortland St but it drove me crazy watching CSI, Bones and C4's Top 100 Music moments.

Hi Matt.

It sounds like I've got the same problem. My Shortland Street HD recordings are jumpy (with PDVD8 codec), but other recordings on TV2 (and other channels) are fine. Do you think changing Quartz.dll will help? I have version 6.5.2600.5596. Can you tell me where to find 6.5.1.902?

Thanks, Adrian.

no- I'm actually back to the latest Quartz.dll as I was getting other problems with playback (That I now can't remember - but jerkiness was actually becomming more frequent I think? Or maybe I lost acceleration in H264 - can't remember). So at present I'm living with the fact that playing HD when I skip ad's it often starts playing jerky, usually all I have to do is do a short skip back and its fine.
