Crap, ADPlus messes up purevideo. I think it's unregistering dlls or something. If I run ADPlus then try to watch anything, I can't. Go into GBPVR config and there is no longer a video/audio decoder... just system default. Have to re-install purevideo.

So this isn't gonna work unless there's some way to prevent this. Any ideas?

The purevideo decoders de-register themselves if they detect a debugger present. They do this so no one can snoop on their nvidia secrets. Rolleyes

This is the main reason I dont do any testing with the nvidia decoder - too much of a pain in the butt (I always have debugger present).

You'll probably have to reproduce the error without the nvidia decoders. If it only happens when you're using the nvidia decoders, then you have the solution to your original problem (dont use the nvidia decoders).

I have been trying to get a good file that should have exactly what is happenning to me. Last night I had the debugger running and I couldn't watch timeshifted TV. I had an error message about the debugger. I am not sure exactly what it said since I have SDTV and small text is hard to read, but something to the effect I couldn't do what I wanted since I had a debugger running, then GBPVR and the debugger closed. The timeshifted show was still recording though. Should I be able to watch timeshifted TV and have the debugger running. I think I tried settng it to record then watching the recording and it crashed again.

Friggin nVidia. I'm this close -->||<-- to purchasing an ATI card. LOL

Sub, what video card and decoder are you using on your main box?

I'm pretty sure I had the crashing issue with the Intervideo decoders too because you had suggested I try different decoders in one of the other threads.

Do you know by chance if the Intervideo decoder will allow the debugger to run? If they do, i'll reinstall them tonite and get the debugger running again.

Dvasco, what video card and decoder are you using?

I am using an eVGA Nvidia GeForce 6200 with the WinDVD 7 Intervideo codec when I want to see CC. If not then I switch to Nero. Nero came with my DVD burner. I had tried Nvidia also at one time.
Most of the time GBPVR crashes it seems it has to do with button presses on the remote, maybe too many too soon. Maybe because GBPVR can't keep up. But it has crashed a few times while playing a show without button presses.

I'm using an ATI 9600 and the Cyberlink decoders. (no HDTV to worry about here, otherwise I'd probably be using more upspec video hardware)

Yes I think they do. The Cyblerlink decoder pops up a box and tells you disable the debugger, then exits the app, so I dont use the Cyberlink decoder often on my development boxes. That said, the intervideo decoders arnt great. Its probably worth just using something like the MPV video decoder while you try to track down the source of this problem: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm

If i use MPV, do i need to download a seperate audio decoder? Reason I ask is on that download page it says "video only".

Dvasco, what is "MS MCE Beanbag" in your sig? Is that another name for the MCE receiver?

I haven't had GBPVR crash while just watching TV, always when i press a button to do something like bring up the live guide or navigating the menu. I have hidden my USB-UIRT box back behind other electronics and verified it's not seeing the button presses from my remote (little red light indicates when it detects IR). I have a blaster bud from the box on the front of my Dish Network's STB. Maybe the common thing with us is an MCE reciever?

There is a matching MPA decoder here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPA_Decoder.htm

Okay it crashed this morning while using the MPV/MPA codecs.

Here's the list of files and sizes for each. I've attched the "PID-3876__GBPVR.EXE__Date_02-17-2007__Time_09-31-26AM.log" file since it's only 44KB.

14,049KB -- PID-3876__GBPVR.EXE__1st_chance_AccessViolation__mini_0E88_2007-02-18_11-01-27-375_0F24.dmp
235,004KB - PID-3876__GBPVR.EXE__1st_chance_Process_Shut_Down__full_0E88_2007-02-18_11-01-32-718_0F24.dmp
44KB ------ PID-3876__GBPVR.EXE__Date_02-17-2007__Time_09-31-26AM.log
4KB ------- Process_List.txt

Let me know if you need any of the other files. Thanks.

Crash happened at 11:01 AM. Apologies for not zipping up the logs immediately after the crash... I switched the PVR back to Purevideo decoders after the crash so I will be ready in about 30 min for the daytona 500. :o

gbpvr.exe-2.log has the memory corrupt error in it.

Here are my GBPVR logs.
