snoebel Wrote:Sub, I'm not clear in what the exact good result should be, and what you saw what was wrong on my result in the log file.
You have the following entry in your log file:
Quote:22:14:03.031 INFO Checking AM_KSCATEGORY_CROSSBAR filters
22:14:03.031 INFO found: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
22:14:03.031 INFO
It should look something like this:
Quote:22:14:03.031 INFO Checking AM_KSCATEGORY_CROSSBAR filters
22:14:03.031 INFO found: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
22:14:03.031 INFO - (input) Video Tuner In
22:14:03.031 INFO - (input) Audio Tuner In
22:14:03.031 INFO - (output) Video Decoder Out
22:14:03.031 INFO - (output) Audio Decoder Out
22:14:03.031 INFO
The same for Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvTuner and Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvAudio filters. They are not reporting any input or output pins so there is no way to connect them in the filter chain. The filter chain is a group of filters that are connected to each other in order to tune a channel and decode and display the video/audio contained in that channel. If one link is broken, then no video or audio can be displayed.

Edit: How does sub post so fast????

Any idea what I could do to change the driver that it does have the required pins ?

Could it be that windows 2008 needs more then just the hauppauge drivers to work.. I was thinking mpeg2 drivers or maybe something else ?

Muxchecker gives me a warning that I have no multiplex filter installed, is this needed ?
If so, which do I need ?

I'm not really sure what to suggest. Normally for this sort of thing I'd probably have guess you need to remove the drivers and try reinstalling them.

You dont need a mux with an analog card so this ok.

I did try to install the drivers again and again.

Tried version 2.0.48.25037 as the latest one..

Used files from CD 2.7, CD3.2 and 3.4D1 and special MCE drivers, all with same result.
Used HCWclear.exe everytime and rebooted system after every fresh install.

The stupiest thing is that I don't get any error, drivers install just fine..

The drivers might not be fully compatible with Windows 2008 beta3.

I'm no longer using the beta3 of course, official windows 2008 standard now.

In the mean time I bought a new tuner, Terratec Cinergy C PCI with CI.

Same problem :-( I really want to get this working... so I probably end up installing 2003 again...

As far as I can tell its not a GB-PVR problem. Maybe Windows 2008 Server needs you to install some additional stuff before it its usable for this sort of task. Hard to guess what that might be exactly.

Nope, also don't think it's a GBPVR problem, original software from hauppauge (using the 150mce) or Terratec (using my new card) does not work either.. :-(

I was just hoping that someone was trying the same thing, getting GBPVR running with windows 2008.

Have a nice xeon systeem with 3.5 terra running for storage, ftp, mail etc.. doing lots of test with Hypervisor.. just loved getting my video recorder back running. Not willing to run a second box just for recording ...

For getting the Terratec operational (if I would go back to w2k3), I just need to edit the bda.ini like this ? :

TerraTec Cinergy C PCI DVB-C]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-C
FILTER_TUNER=Cinergy C PCI Digital Tuner (BDA)
FILTER_CAPTURE=Cinergy C PCI Digital Capture (BDA)
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Just not sure on those (BDA)... they don't show in the graphedit, but are in the bda.ini section I copied.
