This is a problem I can't think of a workaround for, the solution is really to have more reliable source. You can increase the prebuffer size of live tv and net radio and it might help a bit although I haven't had a problem with live tv and net radio.
The only time I have a problem is when a listen to cable digital audio, I cannot fill the default "video" buffer fast enough to avoid the loop. I get around this by listening in time shifted mode.
