Verus Wrote:My provider is Cablevision and a scan on my HVR-2250 finds the same number of channels as a scan on my HDHomerun. What I normally do is let the scan complete and then hit OK to save the scan in order to avoid any potential lockups. Then I go back in and start mapping the channels.

I'm not using any of the updated files from the survival guide (PVRX2.exe and NativeUtilities.dll). I am using the ATI MPEG Mux and not TS Mux, too many issues with TS Mux for me. Also, I pretty much left config.xml with the defaults in the BDA section except for the following:
<BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnLivePreview>true</BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnLivePreview>

I did add the following line to my bda.ini file under the [Hauppauge HVR-2250 (QAM)] entry to avoid analog/digital recording collisions on the same tuner:
SHARED_NAME=Hauppauge HVR2250

The qam.ini file I'm using when I scan is the original file that came with 1.3.7 that has the 138 channel numbers.

If I remember anything else that I have done to get this card working or things I noticed during installation, I'll let you know. Let me know if there are any other specific settings you would like to know.
Where did you get the ATI MPEG MUX? Does it require an ATI card to install, or will it work on an nVidia??

I'm running 1.3.7, and that entry is already in my config.xml file - why would you need to edit it, and mine is set to true by default when using the same version? Did you upgrade?

I did have a problem initially with the driver installation. For some reason nothing was working, not even in WinTV. GB-PVR was showing the HVR-2200, HVR-2250 and HVR-2250 (QAM) for some reason. A hcwclear and reinstall of the drivers just shows the HVR-2250 and HVR-2250 (QAM) now. I think I may have reinstalled the drivers a couple of times, without uninstalling, to get it working properly.

It's in the AVIVO codec pack at ATI's website. I think it should work or you can try the Cyberlink Mux.

I think mine was false by default, only the recording version was true. For some people, we needed to change this to true or LiveTV only had a black screen. I originally upgraded, but then uninstalled and did a fresh 1.3.7 install.

Is there a particular series of ATI cards I should download it for? Or will the HD4800 ones work?

Well I download the one for the HD3450 since I also had that video card in my system at one point, but I removed it and am using the integrated HD3200. The AVIVO codec pack still works so it doesn't seem to matter for me. Can't say for sure if it will work with the NVidia cards or not. The other option is a Cyberlink Mux, I got that as part of a PowerDVD software pack with my LG HD/BD drive - you might be able to find it on the net. I'm not sure if the mux or the other suggestions I provided will help with scanning, rather wanted to let you know the only changes I have made to get it fully working.

You may also want to try deleting the SCAN*.cache files in the ~Devnz/GBPVR/BDA directory before starting a new scan. I've seen others recommend that when having issues with scanning.

All I can find is the pack for Vista - is there one for WinXP?

Darn, how did you find that - searching their site for avivo codec pack returned no results!
