Great thanks for testing, hopefully this has the best of both worlds, it stops prebuffering a bad file but it waits 10 seconds to allow skip recovery. I'll update mvpmc.org
I am getting a couple of bits of changed behaviour with this. Tested with GB-PVR server so far not NextPVR one.
I have not changed any other settings, all I have done is copied mvpmcx into shared folder (overwriting old one)
1) GB-PVR main menu is to the left of my TV screen, it does not fill the screen, I can see all of the menu but it just fills 2/3rds of the (16:9) screen the right hand portion of the screen is just black. Video plays as usual and fills the screen. Revert to previous mvpmcx2 (which strangely enough I also have labelled as 'o' and all is fine again.)
2) I have MS MC remote. Normally a double tap on the off key (single tap wait for PCH boot screen, second tap takes it to standby) does not appear to work with this latest mvpmcx? On the first tap it hangs, black screen, nothing else...

See if fixing your config.xml for question 1 as explained in posts 1 and 2 of this thread solves the second. I just powered off 3 times without difficulty, but because the GB-PVR and NPVR threads don't terminate cleanly it will crash occasionally, NPVR is slightly more reliable.

Thanks Martin,
however much I read these threads I always miss something :o
I cannot try to implement it presently as Mrs steeb is watching some stuff from the GB-PVR server (and with 6 weeks to go for her carrying mini steeb I don't want to rush in and ask her to stop watching! And the NextPVR server is undergoing a troubleshooting issue!)
Will be interesting to see what happens when I tweak because current settings from GB-PVR server do certainly NOT match suggestions from your pointers:
so I am sure as usual this will solve it. Why that should solve the 'double tap' turn to standby issue I am not sure, but until I have played!
And before I forget, and I am one of the worst for this, thank you. I think so often we all just point things out, chat about them and forget how much time the dev's put into making this magic work.
Mrs steeb decided to stop watching stuff and give mini steeb a rest. Working on your defaults from post 1 that brings everything back to a better place. Tweaking along Jaggy's lines will hone it down.
Out of interest will an NMT install re-write the config.xml file for me along these defaults? Rather than me just dumping the single mvpmcx2 file in?
NMTInstall for GB-PVR isn't working at the moment, and I probably won't bother getting it going again at this point, but NMTInstall2 will insert (but not update) the proper config.xml values if SD is selected.

Thanks Martin, clarification needed (for a stressed and tired mind!)
NMT install for GB-PVR I think we can agree needs no more work.
Insert but not update the proper config.xml values? Is that with GB-PVR or NextPVR? and if SD is selected where? Am sure of course I have missed this in a post somewhere as usual
