Playback Problem

I just got a new computer with GBPVR running with a PVR500 everything works so far but playback. I recorded 2 shows at the same time to test the pvr500 and it recorded both but when I try to play them they play for a few seconds then the picture freezes the same thing happens with live tv. I can use the escape key to get out without anything else locking or freezing. I am using the system default for the decoders and have VMR9 selected. Any ideas on something to try?

The default decoders vary from machine to machine, and is the most likely cause of your problem. You should probably try setting them to something other than the "system default" option.

Right now I don't have a choice because that is all that is in the dropdown. It is a new Dell with XP Home Service Pack 2.

Thats probably telling you that you dont actually have a supported decoder installed. If you had one of the common decoders installed that been tested, it'd be listed here (Cyberlink, Intervideo, nvidia, Nero, elecard etc).
