I just got GBPVR installed and configured. Boy is this some great software for freeware.

Anyway, I have the Saphhire Theatrix (ATI Based) Theater 550 Pro.

I have the model with the
Dual Tuner

However, so far I have only been able to configure it as being one capture source.

I would like to configure both of the cable / coax inputs on the card as different sources. This way I could watch something while something else is recording.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks for any help!

I've never seen a dual tuner ATI card, but assuming it's like the Hauppauge ones, you just need to treat it as two separate ATI cards. Setup two capture sources, with independent EPG, one set to device #1, the other to device #2.

Anyway, I'll check into it and post a reply back here.

I went in an added another source and tried it as device #2 (and after that failed device #3) as device #1 was already working.

I got a message that the driver for this device doesn't appear to be installed. I ignored this and saved anyway. Upon starting live tv it says that the capture device could not be found / configured.

I know that I have the latest correct drivers from ATI installed on this system (did that yesterday). And live tv / pausing / recording does work fine but only from the one coax input. This really sucks because I have recording conflicts and I'd like to be able to record two shows at once (thus the reason for buying the dual card).

Surely someone else on this forum uses a card like this. I mean the ATI software is CRAPPY and GBPVR is one of the best things I've ever seen.

Any advice, tips, suggestions, guesses would be great.

Thanks

Not that I've heard of. Can you post a link to the actual product you bought? I'm surprised they havnt given it a different model number.

Does the windows device managed show two devices? The Hauppauge PVR 500 does.

that review, and those pictures are of the standard ati 550 which is a single tuner. the second coax input is for FM, not a secondary tv tuner..
MAIN RIG - Opteron 165 @2900MHz
2x1024 OCZ Platinum @ 480MHz (3.3.3.7)
HTPC - Athlon 64 3800+
2x512 Corsair XMS C2
ATI Theatre Pro 550 - MCE Blaster - Comcast Set Top Box
Hauppauge HVR-2250
