Overscan problem, PVR-500

I ended up not being able to get the AspectRatios part right but found some overscan settings above it. I changed mine to this:

No, that just controls where the content is displayed on screen during playback, relative to the current window.

hmm, is there anyway to affect the recorded shows other than have it crop during transcoding?

No. There is no way to tell the PVR500 to crop the recording in anyway. You always get the full frame in the MPEG stream produced by the device.
