I've been happily using gbpvr in my secondary monitor on the right for a while now.

I bought a new desk which now makes sense to have the gbpvr monitor on the left of the primary. Now whatever I do gbpvr won't start on the right monitor. If I have start in secondary monitor ticked it starts on my primary monitor. If I don't have it ticked it also starts on my primary monitor.

Any ideas why it will work on the right but not on the left?

It's known limitation. It expects the second monitor on the right.

You can probably manually position it where you want using command line: gbpvr.exe -pos:x,y,w,h

The nVidia video driver includes a utility that can manage this - pre-supposes nVidia hardware of course...
- Silent client PVR: HDPlex HS.1 aluminium fanless case / Thin-ITX ASRock H81TM-ITX motherboard / Intel Celeron 1850T CPU / 4GB RAM / 120GB SSD / TBS6982 DBS-S2 [SIZE=1]dual-tuner card / Win10+nPVR+Plex Media Player feeding LG OLED55B6V + Anthem MRX510 AV Receiver / PMC GB1 / B&W / REL speakers.
- Noisy NAS: Xeon / Intel mobo / 16GB RAM / FreeNAS + Ubuntu VMs on VMware ESXi + 12TB RAID

Shame, I've got an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. I've tried messing with the catalyst control centre and if I switch the secondary to the right, start gbpvr, then switch back again it is fine but only til I restart my pc (or maybe gbpvr).

Nevermind - it's a known issue. You're still the only decent PVR I can find that'll start and run on a secondary monitor AT ALL so I'm not gonna whine too much Wink

I have an ATI Radeon 9600XT Pro and have the TV as my secondary monitor. It stays this way across reboots. I have a fairly recent Catalyst Control Center installed. One thing I did notice is that if you disconnect your monitor cable (I have an extension on mine), then the HW detects that no monitor is connected but the TV is, so it makes the TV the primary monitor. Other than that, it should all work. Try using the native XP Display Settings tab (where you can set resolution and color depth), and click the Identify button. My LCD monitor is 1 and my TV is 2.

I tried installing the latest driver suite with catalyst control centre, but it's made no difference. I tried setting it and rebooting but gbpvr once again starts on the primary monitor.

The monitors are identifying as expected in display properties.

It's only a minor issue as the pc is rarely rebooted anyway. Just wanted to know if there was a way round it.

I'm pretty sure the -pos command line I mentioned above is the only easy way around it.

You can also use a program like ultraMon to set program defaults for dual monitors. I love it, but it isn't free.

Soz mate, but I think you're missing the point. This discussion is about gbpvr not starting on the secondary monitor if it's on the LEFT. If it's on the right it works fine. It's been confirmed as a known issue. Thanks for posting screens though. Wink
