I have seen this card listed as PAL... will a PAL card work in the US? I know most cards are NTSC and I would assume I would need an NTSC card.

Also, the card doesn't specify wether its PAL or NTSC, so is there a way to tell the difference?

No you can't use a PAL card in the US (not directly anyway). The PAL has a different connector than the standars coax connector. It looks more like an RCA style plug (if memory serves correct).

I know there is a version of the Maui III that is NTSC. I think Flyswatta uses one.
If it's PAL only it won't work in an NTSC area.
That said I don't know what versions they actually do make. The tuner is going to be the only clue (assuming nothing else can be found). If you can get a number off of it, you might be able to google it and find out what it is.

The connectors look like coax... so I suppose that is a pretty good indicator that it is NTSC. Thanks for your help everyone, I guess I figured out what I needed to know.

I will be checking back to see if any other interesting information pops up though.

Mine is an NTSC - it looks just like this one . Actually that's the same guy I bought mine from.

I downloaded the driver from the wiki and it's been great.
