have to agree with you on most if not all points there stustunz - i have a ati radeon 9550 - 128mb low profile - its OK but sometimes i wonder what it would be like with a gruntier card.
yeah i even had a ati9800xt previous that was better than the 6200 but the 6800 was better than the 9800
also had ati9200
fx5200
ti4200(i think)
gforce2 something
and some others ......
although sub reckons his 9550 are good so i dont really know
some of it is probably the encoding

its old technology
pvrx2 uses direct 3d hence the reason old shit cards are just that
No problem. I use the tv-out on the gfx-card anyway. I never was able to get the tv-out to work with my current pvr150 either. Dunno' if it's the haupaugge drivers, windows or the hardware, or even the tv...
I'm split about getting a pvr350, a new better gfx-card or both. Or maybe just let the system work until the old executable is outdated and move to MythTV or something instead.
The advantage with GBPVR as of now is that it just works. Myth needs more setup...

I definitely wouldnt get a PVR350. Its too limited in what it can do (no DVDs, no AVIs etc), the menu looks crap through it (limited colors), and it locks up the PC or blue screens for about half the people that try to use one. In case you werent aware, the hardware decoder can only be used when using it's built in tv out connector.
Its been over two years since I dropped support for the tv out aspect of this device. I definitely dont think its a good choice these days.

Good info! Thx for the heads up! I'll be looking into a new gfx-card then and see if it fixes things. Thx again.

Update: Got a GF6200 from work, installed it together with the v93.71 nvidia drivers (it sees my tv now!) and sure enough, the pvrx2-executable also now works.
The GF6200-card feels a lot faster too! So far, all is good!
