Interesting DVB-S scanning problem

I have a twinhan 1020a which I have working perfectly well in DVBDream, but I am having a heck of a time getting it working well with GBPVR, Hopefully someone here has had the same problem as me!

Using the mdapi plugin, have recording source set up as bda recording plugin, epg source : DVB EPG Broadcast


Region/Trnasmitter : Nimiq 1
LNB LOF1 : 11250000
LNB Switch : 0
LNB LOF2: 11250000

I have the newest transponder files (use the same one i use in DVB Dream)

When I map digital channels to EPG channels, every transponder lists the same channels! Very odd - It will detect about 10 channels, and then repeat them over and over for each transponder. The Mdapi plugin starts fine, and it decodes the 10 channels (I can even add them, and watch them!)

Any ideas anyone? Thanks for the help! I love this program so far. Best and most versatile (and stable!) that I have come across yet!

Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I suspect this is related to your particular switch/disqec settings. There is a bda Twinhann lnb setting in the config.xml file which you need to change manually (can not use the config GUI). Sorry I can't remember particulars (I am at work right now so I can't check) but I believe the value should be 2.


Also, the DVB EPG option does not work in NA (at least not yet - hopefully a future version?...), you need to set up an xml based EPG. There are both free and paid options - check the wiki for details.

aha! I was using the DVB EPG option - I will use an xml scraper and try it that way! Thanks I had taken out the diseqc switch already, and am connecting directly to the LNB, so that shouldn't be an issue

OK I checked, the config.xml setting I was trying to remember is

<BDATwinhanDiseqcMethod>2</BDATwinhanDiseqcMethod>

"2" works for me with my Twinhan1020 connected to a dishpro500. Other valid settings I think are "1" and I believe "0" is deprecated.

Also for my setup first sat is Disqec "A" and second sat is Disqec "B".
