Weird LiveTV static problem

I have a problem watching LiveTV and recording shows using gbpvr version 1.1.5. LiveTV will only show static when I try to use it. When I record a show, gbpvr will only record static also. However, I can hear the tv show playing. I have a Motorola stb connected to a Hauppauge PVR-150 through s-video.

The weird part is I can get LiveTV to show correctly if I use WinTV first. Once the video show up in WinTV, I can then close WinTV, open GBPVR, and then everything works like is suppose to. I also can record tv shows without any problem after opening WinTV.

Do anyone knows what could be my problem? This happen when I use either PVRx2.exe or gbpvr.exe.

If you're seeing static, it sounds like you've configured you capture source to use the PVR150's tuner rather than the svideo input.

I'll double check when I get home, but I think I chose the S-Video, External setting when I chose the capture source.

Sub you were right. I did not have the external setting set to S-video. For some reason I had it set to Composite. Thank you for your help.
