Changing GOP length

Hi All,

I just got back to using GBPVR after a break and got the new version. Is there some way to change the GOP length from the default of 15 frames to something else? I seem to recall that ability in the old version I was using, but can't seem to find it now.

I'm looking for this because when I do my editing, I like to edit on the GOP to avoid re-encoding and 15 frames just doesn't provide enough granularity (for lack of a better word).

Sorry, there is no functionality in GB-PVR for doing this.

There is no standard way for doing, so you'd need to manufacturer APIs for each every analog card you wanted to support. Its not something I'm keen to do.

I can't check, but wasn't this possible in WinTV the hauppauge application?

i know the hauppauge tweak tool has the option

As a test, I used vlc to change the gop on my Win TV USB2. I then made a test manual recording with gb-pvr, and looked at the file with G-Spot. It had the gop structure I had set in vlc.

I have the Hauppage WinTV PVRF USB2 so the replies sound interesting. What & where are vlc and the hauppage tweak tool?

not sure if it works on the usb tuners i have pvr150/500 but have a look
