The source filter (haali) is responsible for reporting the duration of the video.

The timeline was distorted in the same way when using the internal TS reader. I'll try it again. I cannot change to windowed mode right now, got a recording in progress.

BTW, I am able to see the recording in progress, which may indicate that Haali is not working based on a prior comment.

I changed teh use internal back to true, got this in log:

2008-07-30 21:02:55.640 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
2008-07-30 21:02:55.640 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
2008-07-30 21:02:55.640 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
2008-07-30 21:02:55.640 VERBOSE - MPV Decoder Filter
2008-07-30 21:02:55.640 VERBOSE - MPA Decoder Filter
2008-07-30 21:02:55.640 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
2008-07-30 21:02:55.640 VERBOSE - SOURCE
2008-07-30 21:02:55.640 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)

So this looks like it is using internal. Playing the same file, again get 3:32:44 for length, and very slow button response.

Comskip gui only shows the hour long portion.

Is there anything I can do to look at the TS file? I have tsReaderLite loaded, but know little about using it. Not even sure it is the right tool.

Thansk again for your patience on this. It is likely a Comcast-caused problem, but at least it is recording the whole show now. Just need to get the length right and I suspect the very slow button response will improve like NCIS. Encouraged that comskip sees length correctly.

THanks

It probably means there is something screwy with the PCR timeline in the transport stream being broadcast, and neither the Haali or GB-PVR TS Readers are gracefully handling it.

Well, more graceful than DVR-MS handled it (was unplayable).

Is there anything I should do to get you a copy of the TS file? I'll live with this for now, but I know you are still working on the TS support. Any data I can dig for you, I would be glad to do it. Obviously the file is too large to send, its 8GB.

To be honest, I dont have the time to look into it now anyway, so dont worry about trying to get the file to me.

Hopefully the TS changes I intend to make for the next release will help though.

I understand. Let me know if you ever need samples, as this is probably going to be ongoing.

One more question on this.

Once I select FALSE on the use internal TS reader, how can I specify what TS reader to use? I have haali on board now, but I would like to try a few others, see if they handle whatever is corrupt. I don't see a setting in config to select what available splitter to use.

If not in config, are there other methods? Or do I just have to unload haali and load something else?

I thought an earlier version of GBPVR had Graphedit, but I don't see that anywhere. Sure I used it at one point. Was that shipped with GB? Should I still see it on my menu? Would that help in seeing/specifying what TS splitter to use?

Thanks again

If you're not using the internal TS reader, then it just lets directshow choose what filters are for that file type. (normal directshow rules about filter merit levels are used by directshow to determine this)

No, GB-PVR never included GraphEdit. You can google for it if you want to download it though.

In graphedit if you choose the 'render media file' menu option, then select your .ts file, it'll show the default graph that will be generated for that file type.

Thank, that show help!

I'll let you know if any other TS splitters work better.

Have not been successful with other splitters.

However, I do note that the haali splitter does appear to be working on recordings in progress as well. Or something is. Graphedit indicates it is haali assigned to my TS files, and I can play same file that is in progress recording. So, they must have improved it.
