copy to system32 directory
run regsvr32 file.name

I had a machine crash while running WMP 11, i think due to an old video driver.
I upgraded the driver and no more crashing, but what was interesting is WMP disabled the MPV codec, it was no longer in the list. So i had to redo the regsrv32 on the file, then it was back in the list.

I just reloaded my machine with XP Pro SP2, previously I had Vista Ultimate loaded. On Vista Ultimate I didn't have this issue, but with XP Pro I do. I did some research here and found that this is sometimes caused by an AMD dual core processor. You can try setting the "affinity" of GBPVR to use only one processor core from the windows task manager. There are also some other fixes - a microsoft hot fix, and AMD cpu driver, and an AMD dual core optimizer that may help. In my case the AMD cpu driver fixed it.

Good luck!

thanks for the info, and I do have an AMD dual core CPU, and I guess this is the problem. Do you have the links to these drivers, or whatever fixed the problem for you?

thanks,

Check this thread here on the GBPVR forums:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...e+affinity

Here's where to get the AMD software:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Tech...06,00.html

I put in the M$ patch and it didn't help. I then tried the AMD cpu driver and it fixed it (so far anyway, knock on wood!)

I loaded the AMD dual core optimizer just for giggles and didn't see any increase or decrease in performance.

I had just loaded XP Pro SP2 but didn't do any updates - I was just in a hurry to load GBPVR and see if it fixed my flicker problem so I skipped updating, I wonder if updating would've installed some fixes to deal with this and I wouldn't have ran into it?

Anyway, read the link I gave ya, maybe do a couple more searches as I think there are a couple more threads on the problem here on GBPVR forums, and try the AMD software and hopefully you'll solve the problem.

Good Luck! Post back how it goes!
